Looking for tiny case to display vintage computer chips. Help Identify..

I have the below Arcade Defender Coin-op rom chips; wanted to put them in a small clear plastic disply case individually that is a little larger than the chip, which measures 1.0 x 0.5 inches. Has anyone you ever seen small plastic container that I could maybe place one in for display/nostalgia purposes only? Thanks for any ideas. Also curious who manufactures the pictured chips and where were they fabricated?

One detail: if you intend to preserve the ICs content and functions, you should have an anti-static or static dissipative foam. I don't think the white one qualifies.

Could you use little petri dishes like those used in biology/chemistry labs?

  Just a suggestion, but retail store 'TAP Plastics has carried little boxes, and with various tints, etc.  That approach, has the lid type, few had hinges.
  For a really funky, hippy sort-of wood accents, to your plastic, I tried an TV set, cabinet.  But any sort of great looking 'wood' perhaps antique store box, was for jewlrey / red velvet lined.
  But the retail boxes, most were 1 inch by 2, many times.

In 1980, these were already quite common (every microprocessor-based device needed them) and well-standardized. EPROMs from multiple manufacturers were pin-compatible and behaved in the same way, at least from the perspective of using them in a circuit -- the timing and voltages for programming them did vary between manufacturers.

Intel, TI and AMD were among the early manufacturers, and in 1980 I assume they made these chips in the US. But Toshiba, ST Microelectronics and probably quite a few other international manufacturers were in the business early as well.

You seem to have two different flavors of EPROM there: One-time programmable, in a plastic package with a flat top, and UV-erasable and reprogrammable, in a ceramic package with a slight "hump" with a transparent window. To my knowledge, all the above manufacturers made either package -- the chip inside is actually the same.

You could, of course, see the manufacturer logo as well as the year and week of manufacture when you peel off the paper labels. There is also often a manufacturer-specific code which indicates the manufacturing site, if they operated multiple fabs at the time. But I understand that you may not want to do this -- if the chips have any collector value, it would be due to the labels.
