Software for Alacron i860 card
« on: July 13, 2023, 05:31:08 pm »
I have an Alacron FT200 ISA card.   The earlier version of this:  http://alacron.com/clientuploads/FT-200-PCI.PDF

It came with the manuals but no software.   I am wondering if anyone has copies of the software?   I looked on bitsavers but didn't see anything related to "alacron".

I cannot tell if Alacron are still in business. The website is up, email doesn't bounce. Calls are never answered, they just redirect to VM.

Obviously lack of replies could also be because "we're not interested in responding".

According to the manual there was DOS, Windows 3.X, Unix SYSV/X86, Solaris 2/X86 and OS2 versions comprising runtime, vectorizing C/Fortran compilers and various software libraries for vector/image processing.

too rare, if you have the tecnical documentation, you might write a simple driver to
- load firmware from the host
- run it
- communicate to the host via "virtual" channels
The opposite of courage is not cowardice, it is conformity. Even a dead fish can go with the flow
