So I had a few 8x8 Panasonic Grid-Eye sensors lying around and curiosity got the better of me...
Sensor die is approx 3mm square, surprisingly large ROIC die.
Not quite sure why they need that internal copper plate - maybe thermal equalisation?
Lens/windlow looks like 1 piece of silicon, flat on outside, convex on the inside
Each pixel appears to be a group of 6 elements - maybe in series for higher sensitivity? Documentation says it's a thermopile.
