I have same issues with my e30bx, no crossair and so on, wifi e BT enabled but non usable.

I'll try re-calculating the CRC

I know it's been posted, but here's what I did to correct it.

Open the .cfg file to be edited
remove the # CRC01 XXXXXXX line and the CRLF so there is only the CRLF from the serial number line (Use notepad++ and turn on symbols to see the control characters)
Edit the file, save it and calculate the CRC
Add the CRC line and one CRLF
Save the file
Done

The way I confirmed this was my issue was to use a conf.cfg file from my backup off the camera, remove the CRC line and CRLF saving the CRC number, then running crc01.exe against the file to see if it matched the CRC.  Bingo.

I'll try

EDIT: finally it works, there were 2 CRLF at the bottom of the file literally fu***ng the conf file, seen with notepad++ as you said.

ok now I'll modify files by myself, keep posting here your progress unleashing the beast.

Your camera doesn't have rbg camera and flashlight covered right? I'm drilling right now holes for mine.

Correct.  Mine has all that exposed, but I fear mine doesn't have the wifi/bt hardware installed based on what I saw in the service menu.  I've read that the "B" version E30 may lack this.  Not a huge deal, but I'd like to play with it.

I've since been able to enable the Fusion and PiP menus, but I was unable to check the boxes to actually use them.  I'm editing the ui.d\conf.cfg file now trying to get this to work.

A little "before and after" of me reflected on the window, first is stock, second with full res and disabled noise.

But WHY there is a kind of artificial noise..

Artificial noise allowed Flir to sell the same units, for very different prices.  They simply crippled the less expensive units with software. A very deceitful thing to do in my opinion.

I was able to get the video working.  I used the ui.d\conf.cfg file from Igustavocampos's E30_Hack.zip file.  I installed the compare plug-in into Notepad++ and just turned the "0" to "1" for video and "false" to "true" for a bunch of things including the video stuff.  I don't get a red "recording" dot on the screen, but I do get the timer at the bottom so, good enough.

Still can't enable the Fusion or PiP buttons.  They're there, but can't turn them green....

Still can't get Fusion to enable.

I was able to get the WiFi and Bluetooth menu options enabled and I can add an SSID, key, encryption, etc. but it does nothing.  No hardware I guess.  Boo hoo.

Now that I have this thing all pepped up, I may sell it and buy a newer E40 to hack and get all the extras.

Fusion is working now.  Had to edit appcore.d\conf.cfg in the framegrab section.

Figured out why zoom wasn't working.  I had enabled the X4, but not the entry in the conf.cfg

Not much else left that I'm aware of, but I'm going to work through the false or 0 notated sections and see what else I can enable.

Now that you have a good feel for how to work with the files and the CRC thing that is usually the biggest cause of problems, look for the e30 final files Fraser did to his e30 it will enable 99% of what is available that actually works and will enable things that where not even available on the stock e60. His entries remove the BT option but if you don't have the hardware it does not matter.

Remember when calculating the new CRC the old one should be removed first. That seems to be the problem av8r was having.

Exactly the problem.  Once I realized the CRC I calculated for the unedited, backup files didn't match what was in them the light bulb lit up...dimly... :-DD

Easy mistake to make when you're doing this for the first time. When I researched modding my E40 there were lots of posts from guys doing the same thing and having similar problems.

That's not artificial noise on your upgraded image, that's the real live stuff. When you set a very low temp span you're going to get some noise.

Ok the thermocam is almost completely unlocked, my only concern is about wifi and bluetooth: the hardware is present because I can see other wireless network but when I try to connect the system freezes. Any idea?
