(solved)I3 spot temp not in center of screen
« on: April 01, 2017, 04:08:44 am »
Hi I was able to do the i7 upgrade on my i3 but for some reason the temp cross hairs are on the upper left hand side. If I down grade it works fine. Also I added the extended  menu options and they all work fine.

Hi chanc3
I don't see that option or menu. Where should it be?

When you select spot, does it give you an option to reposition it? Failing that, it'll be a config setting that'll need tweaking!

If you quadrupled the resolution and the spot crosshair is not aware of this then the current position makes sense. There is probably a setting in the config for this, but a quick scan failed to reveal it.

I agree ,  all the other i7 options work, just the spot is giving me the problem.

sadly I have my i3 no more, but i have the stored files...

try to look at:
FlashFS\system\default.rsc

and change inside to:
.image.sysimgInstances.ref.measureFuncs.spot.1.x int32 60
.image.sysimgInstances.ref.measureFuncs.spot.1.y int32 60

and you have to recalculate the CRC at the end of the file.

good luck  :-/O

.image.sysimgInstances.ref.measureFuncs.spot.1.y int32 60

Are you sure? I just did a search and I3 = 60x60, I7 = 140x140. so 60 for X and Y seems weird... Do you know the original values? 140/2 (70) seems to make more sense?

my old i3 works only with 120x120 so you are right for the new version with 140x140 resolution.

i guess the only interesting spot is spot 1. have you tried to restart the camera?
sometimes you need to read the settings with change to box measurement and back to spot.
.image.sysimgInstances.main.measureFuncs.spot.1.minRect.x1 int32 30
.image.sysimgInstances.main.measureFuncs.spot.1.minRect.x2 int32 30
.image.sysimgInstances.main.measureFuncs.spot.1.minRect.y1 int32 30
.image.sysimgInstances.main.measureFuncs.spot.1.minRect.y2 int32 30
.image.sysimgInstances.main.measureFuncs.spot.1.objectDistance double 0
.image.sysimgInstances.main.measureFuncs.spot.1.parMask int32 64
.image.sysimgInstances.main.measureFuncs.spot.1.rawActive bool true
.image.sysimgInstances.main.measureFuncs.spot.1.referenceTemp double 0
.image.sysimgInstances.main.measureFuncs.spot.1.referenceType text "valueT"
.image.sysimgInstances.main.measureFuncs.spot.1.x int32 30
.image.sysimgInstances.main.measureFuncs.spot.1.y int32 30
maybe you have to change all the values above.  :-//

As I will be carrying out the upgrade on an i5 soon, I also wish to thank those who helped to solve this issue.

There are other SPOT and Rectangle entries....... would these not need to be updated as well ?

Mine don't have these entries in default.rsc, the arrow is always in the center when I change resolution. This is my file:

There are other SPOT and Rectangle entries....... would these not need to be updated as well ?
As far as I know the spot 1 and box 1 was set from the measurement menu. All number above are not usable from the camera directly... but with RNDIS mode and Ex-Tools you can set them and read values.

You can often have multiple spots on some cameras
