LAN Cabling Testing and Certification
« on: August 14, 2020, 02:39:05 am »
Hello Folks

I am looking for a LAN cable tester and certification that doesnt cost thousands of dollars. I already own the Pockethernet which does a great job but it not a certification. The product that do what I am looking for are the fluke DSX's or the Ideal testers.

Understand that from a final cerification would alway need to come from a mega bucks tester like the fluke or ideal. I am just looking for a meter that I could own that would let me test cross talk and other things when i am istalling the cable instead of waiting to certifation to find out I have a problem.

Kind of looking for a NanoVNA for network cable.

Thanks

John

The Fluke CIQ-100 could be an ideal fit at less than $1,300. It should handle crosstalk detection and other troubleshooting effortlessly.

But if you have budget constraint then you may want to look at used cable testers. With certified used equipment, you still get the reliability brands like Fluke and Ideal offer.

The keysight  WS PRO LAN cable tester would also do the job but look for some good deals on refurbished LAN cable testers.
