Rigol DS1202z-e external trigger
« on: December 01, 2020, 11:33:40 am »
Hi,
I try to utilize the external trigger input on the Rigol DS1202z-e but it doesn't seem to work. All works fine if i connect the same signal to one of the analog inputs and use it as trigger source.

Setup:

 - 1kHz 3.3V Signal via x1 probe on ext trigger input.
 - trigger source "EXT"
 - slope "rising edge"
 - trigger level 1.5V
 - trigger mode normal

The trigger indicator keeps blinking "WAIT". Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

Have you tried x10 probe?

What about trigger coupling, AC or DC?

trigger coupling is fixed to "DC" when using the external trigger. I also tried different slope settings (rising, falling, any), no luck.

My device was defective. Got it exchanged, it's working fine now.
