New edition of my free book on Tek scopes includes 2000-Series
« on: February 28, 2023, 03:51:21 pm »
Hi Friends,
As someone has requested, I added the 2000-Series to the second volume of my free book “Tektronix oscilloscopes”. You will find small talks, tables, photos, hints etc. about 2465, 2445B, 2467, 2430, 2430A, 2440, 2431L, 2230 and 2221.
You can download it from the usual my web page (http://www.k100.biz/parade.htm) or from Internet Ar-chives (just go there and search “Tektronix Becattini”).
As always, any suggestion (or correction) is welcome.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the great update! Could you double check the vol 2 high resolution download from k100.biz? I just downloaded it again, and it appears to be version 1.0 with 65 PDF pages that was last modified in January and only has a single page devoted to the 2200 series, saying you'll cover the 2430 first in a future version. archive.org has the updated version.

Such a nice stroll down memory lane  :-+
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

I bet Gianni would be able to grab a bunch of AliExpress gadgets and make them look like NASA-grade stuff... A true labour of love!

I wonder if there would be a market for printing it in a large format and selling them as coffee table books. I would certainly buy a couple as gifts to some people.

This is great, thank you so much. As a novice who has just acquired a 2465BCT as my first own oscilloscope as basically a collection of circuit boards the photos are fantastic resources to fathom out what goes where in colour together with working out what I'm still missing - definitely missing the PSU 'swords' know that I know what they are called.

I came here this morning to say thank you for such a fantastic work on these books.
I stumbled upon them on the Internet Archive last month, while looking for information on my recently acquired 2445a.

What a delightful experience it is to sit with a cup of coffee and browse through its pages. The quality and love put into these photos and writing... man.

My most recent restoration project was a 502A, one week ago. I had not plan to own a tube scope before... I can only think that my mind was influenced by these books without even noticing.

Hats off to Mr. Becattini.

Ciao.
