Megger AVO830 info
« on: December 13, 2021, 08:56:42 pm »

My boss gave me this multimeter as a gift, for which I am very grateful. Being an electrician, it has some very nice features eg: VFD Low pass filter, LowZ option, phase direction detection.
I noticed one annoying thing which I am not sure if it is a problem with the meter or just the way it is designed.
When measuring for example 230V AC, on autoranging, it takes 3 times longer to give a reading compared to other meters in our dept. e.g: Brymen, UNI-T, Fluke.
On manual ranging it is as quick as the others.

Does this sound like a fault with the meter or just the way it is designed?
Will it be possible to fix it with other firmware maybe?

Thank you for any advice.

Joe
