MSO2000 DPO2000 application module hack

This is just a summary of the existing threads here https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/mso2000-application-module-hack/ . The two methods are re programming/creating a TDS module. The second is applying a patched firmware to the scope. I have tried the firmware and it works, the module rewrite works with the TDS3000 series (uses a 24C02) https://www.eevblog.com/forum/projects/tektronix-tds3000-oscilloscope-modules-tds3uam/msg581285/#msg581285 , didn't verify this one.

Requires host TDS3 module + 24C08 (to replace the 24C02)

why the heck would anyone create new TDS modules   

Buy some cheap TDS3FFT or TDS3TRG modules (which are useless anyway, as those options are activated by default in the TDS3K FW since an eternity), and reprogram those... done this a 1000x times !!!

BTW, modules work for TDS3K, DPO2K, DPO3K (not for BW upgrades, but keygen available) and DPO4K.

For MDO's, there's a keygen (in this forum, didn't search...) for the MDO3K, and some work has been done for MDO4K's as well, but you'd have to check the related thread (don't remember if it's just the key that changes, or if the algo is slightly different...).

Firmware hack works like advertised, you get four application modules instead of just two with the hardware modules.

Now I no longer need to switch hardware modules to change to another serial bus decoder.

Does anyone still have the patched firmware? The link in the first post seems to be offline and I'm also having issues compiling my own firmware.
