Uni-T UT208 Clamp Meter question
« on: January 25, 2014, 01:26:29 pm »
I'm thinking about getting an UNI-T UT208 clamp meter.
I see that it does have an inrush current button, however the downloaded manual is not very informative about it.
As I don't have physical access to it to see how it works before buying, is there anyone that can shed some light about the inrush current functionality of this meter ?
Also any info about issues with this meter that are not obvious from the specs would be appreciated.
Thank You.

Here is short review in Russian of the similar UT207:

Uni-T.??????? ????? UT 207

Unfortunately, he didn't test the inrush current feature. Perhaps for good reason, as if the sampling rate is really only 3 per second, it would be rather useless.
I see that the latest A models in the series have dispensed with that feature altogether.

I disagree because this http://hr.rsdelivers.com/product/iso-tech/ipm245/power-meter-model-ipm245-absolute-maximum-ac-current-measurement-1000a-ac/7542769.aspx has also sampling rate 3Hz and it is much much more expensive.
