What is the state of the new siglent hd scopes and hackability? Im really looking at the 2000 series and i already own the logic probe, can i hack this option and in and buy a lower bandwidth model and up it to 350mhz?

Ive also been looking at the 1100x hd, i really only need 200mhz and its much cheaper, but i cant seem to find any info on option hacks for these guys!

Which logic probe, there are 2 types and they are model specific.

The sla1016
SDS800X HD and SDS1000X HD models are your only update options to use with SLA1016....and it need have new FW installed via the scope's UI to work correctly with them.

Ok can i hack the sla1016 option and the bandwidth on the sds1104x hd yet?

The thing is i blew a channel on my 1104x e, im trying to fix it but if i cant or even if i can id really like a bigger screen and 12bit res at the 10mv and below range. I just dont wanna dump the 350 bucks i spent on the logic analyzer. If i bought a new sds 1104x e today with whatever firmware comes on it, can it at least still be hacked?

Siglent just released new FW for several scope series including the SDS1000X-E (and SDS800X HD) that made the LA and AWG options standard equipment, so you no longer require a license (or hack) for them to work with the scope.  As for bandwidth, the hacks remain the same and you can 'upgrade' your 1104 into a 1204 in a few minutes by entering a new key code.

But that does not apply to the 1104x hd series?

From what I can tell, Siglent looks to be doing this across the board for all scopes?  If they haven't released new FW that enables these options for that model yet, it sounds like it may be something they offer shortly...

But this could also be related to specific LA devices - if the 1104X HD uses the same LA module, it's very likely.  If it uses a different LA, I am not sure.

Hi everyone,
I just bought a new SDS1074X-HD from Taobao (I think the 70M version is only available in Chinese market). It seems that Siglent has removed the box to enter a BW upgrade license key. I can confirm that the hashkey has not been changed yet, the 70M BW key from the SCPI terminal matches with the python script. Can anyone verify this on their western version of SDS1000X-HD series? If this is real, Siglent is basically giving away the entire market to Rigol DHO1000 if someone needs an entry-level 2GSa/s scope.

It never had one.

Only some model series offer a BW upgrade option, SDS1000X HD models do not.

Ok so the 1104x e allows you to upgrade the bandwidth the 1104x hd does not? The link provided didnt say much about that.

Im really considering the 1104x hd! The 10 inch screen alone makes it worth it, the 1104x e is so cramped when doing fft/bode plots etc. I will spend the money on a 200mhz one if i have too, but i dont want to fork over way more money if there is a path to a BW upgrade. Being able to use the sla1016 is a must though, that thing cost me 400 bucks alone!

Yeah, I wish they would make it available, but that link explains everything. If you go to the 2000HD web page, they are selling BW upgrade keys on that model. I also read through topics on sds2000hd and it seems that there is no public keygen. So, the answer is crystal clear.  :-//

There is NO formal BW upgrade for either model series. !

Purchase the BW model you require or hack it.

Correct.

The only 2k models series that can be improved are SDS2000X-E and SDS2000X Plus via public hacks.
