Hi Bad_Driver,

Think you are the first to do this!  ;D

You did apply the 50uSec pe amphase, otherwise it sounds very “dull”

Kind regards,
Bram

I know, I know. In the meantime I built a much better Stereo Encoder

and use a RF-generator for this kind of fun.

The screenshot button works!...poorly.

I saved a screenshot today holding down the store/recall button. It saves to the Local drive instead of the USB drive.

That's extra annoying, and there doesn't appear to be any way to change the settings for it. Yes, I also checked the latest manual.

To copy the .bmp file (which should be a .png file) you have to browse to the Local drive, adjust the file types that are visible, then select and copy the .bmp file, then browse to the USB drive, and paste the file. You might also need to change the visible file types again if you want to see what's actually on the USB drive. It's very clunky.

I hope they fix this. When a USB drive is inserted, screenshots should automatically save to the USB drive instead. In general, they should improve the file browsing on these.

Thanks,
Josh

I ran another test with the Reference Out connected directly to the Counter.

Then I took a screenshot. It displayed the confirmation.

Then I went through the tedious process of copying the screenshot from Local to USB.

Viewed it on my PC and this is what was captured:

I went through the whole process again and it captured properly:

All the buttons are constantly lit... During the LEDTest, there are no changes; the buttons stay lit. So, I guess I need to pack it up and send it for service?   :'(
I'm tempted to take it apart  >:D
Look at this. The generator sat for about a month waiting for repair. I turned it on yesterday and saw this. The button backlighting is working fine again. Honestly, I'm not particularly happy because it’s an intermittent issue. But at least it's working now.
The repair files from @tautech wouldn’t load from various USB drives. I’ve ordered another 10 low capacity ones from Aliexpress and am waiting for the shipment. Still want to try the repair procedure anyway and maybe disassembling the unit to check it out.

Hi.
I tried to upgrade the firmware on my Siglent SDG2042X.
Original firmware was 2.01.01.23R3
Updated first to 23R8, then to 35R3B1 without problems.
But when I tried to update to 35R3B2 I got some error as not enough space on C:
I tried to power off/power on device and after that I'm getting just black screen.
Is there any solution for this situation?
Thank you in advance.

Take a look at:

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/the-siglent-sdg2042x-thread/msg4969273/#msg4969273
and the following posts.

The problem is a file called SIGLENT.ADS that was not automatically deleted during a previous firmware upgrade.  It is supposed to be temporary and, if not deleted, prevents future firmware upgrades by taking up too much storage space.

I can't do telnet :(
My unit is bricked, doesn't want to boot. Only black screen on startup.
Probably I need recovery files from Siglent to put on micro SD and try to boot from SD card, but I don't have those files :(

USB recovery should fix this.
