Testing a "Used - Like New" Siglent?
« on: December 23, 2021, 06:11:02 am »
So recently I found a Used - Like New SDS1104X-E on Amazon with prime.

The box itself was sealed with Siglent tape, and all the probes seemed untouched and all had the default yellow rings.

It had only 4 startups on the counter.

In the past I have had some bad experiences with Amazon Warehouse items, but this one is so far looking pretty good, especially if it actually made it back to Siglent for them to check it out.

Does the Siglent tape mean that they did in fact check it out?

Or would they have reset the counter if it made it back to the factory?

And are there any tests I can do to make sure the first guy didn't send it back because it was faulty?

Thanks!

All new units have a zero boot count however if the firmware has been updated since it left the factory that may have increased the count to 4. That the probes haven't been assigned to channels also points to it being a new unit.

Update the FW and OS to V2 as necessary from below then run the AutoCal and if it all completes as expected enjoy the scope.  :)

It probably is with the right tools, but the feature would be pretty useless if the general public could do it,

"Swordfish"  :)

I just bought an 1104x-e and now that I think about it, I should have checked the new, refurbished,  other seller lists.
