Ugh doesn't support high DPI on macOS. Works fine though, if a little blurry.

Still got my eye on a DM42

VOLTAGE REGULATORS

At least, I've sent him two Tesla MAA723H.  ;D

Tesla what ?!  I thought they made cars ?!  :-//
No that wasn't me ! You sent me a bunch of 709 op-amps....
(running to the bench to check them)... OH !!!!!
The two cans that have a yellow dot instead of the red dot all the others have.... they are NOT 709  they are these Tesla 723 !!!  :o
Oh my bad ! You sent me even more stuff than I had realized !!:  :-+

Google found me the datasheet for them but it's written in some funky language I just can't understand, attached. Eastern European country maybe.... I don't know
I guess it's  a 723 voltage regulator then... with special specs ?

BUMP !  >:D

BU ? Anyone ?

Anyone has a datasheet in English I can actually read/use, or are they just regular 723 and I can just download any random 723 datasheet instead of the original Cyrillic one (attached) that I can't read ?

Merci / Thanks / Danke Schôn,

Yours Truly.

Options:

1. Google translate. Czech to English.
2. Assume it's the same as a LM723.
3. Buy some RCA ones instead

Sounds like you might be a fan of ultra-skeuomorphic interfaces. I'm not, but they are better than the modern over-reaction of flat buttons and indicators which are too easily confused with each other and the background and non-functional GUI elements.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

No. not at all. I can't stand skeuomorphic interfaces at all.

I think Apple actually get the calculator interface on macOS about right. It's flat, yes but the buttons are obvious. And yes it's RPN.

Also has a very handy programmer mode

Oh and it also ships with "dc" on a terminal if that's your thing  :-DD

I slept late today and I log in and....eek.....find myself surrounded with engineers with slide rules.  :o Am I still having a nightmare? Need coffee. Lots of coffee.  :-DD

My slide rule vanished somewhere around 1973 never to be seen again ;D

We had a couple at school and they were relics too. My science teacher used to use a Faber one to threaten us with and that was it  :-DD

Yeah, the jumble of characters that the czech language represents to the uninitiated can be quite intimidating. Sadly, these are not OCR'd so translation is no super-straight-forward. Option 2 is your best bet here, and if you really have to know a specific parameter(usually, you won't anyway) a few educated guesses and comparisons to a more legible datasheet are the way forward - at least the "symbols" like Uz, Ucc etc. are mostly the same, so you'll get by. East-european datasheets of this vintage are not highly measured and tightly toleranced anyway (they make up for it by having detailed schematics of the IC though!) Tl;dr: Just assume it's a LM723 and go from there.
Edit: Also, all the original "Tesla" datasheet can be had from there: https://teslakatalog.cz/io.php

Flat on a calculator works OK, since it is all buttons and displays.

But not on other things; I remember with relief HP's invention of "3D" buttons and indicators that showed you they were a button/indicator and "moved" when you pushed them. Tell me, does white text "Off" on a black background mean that it is off or you click it to turn it off. (Ditto black text on white)

But that colour scheme; WTF?! Looks like it was designed by a 9yo girl that thought the girl's toys in Toys-R-Us are the height of sophistication!

Pretty sure the color scheme is a byproduct of the theme set on the device. At least it appears so on my daughter's iPud.  :-//

Well I mostly use the keyboard or just use dc so shrug  :-//

As for the colour scheme, it's fine. It'd be worse if they let engineers design it  :-DD

Edit: Worth pointing out that it also comes with "Grapher" which is a fairly unsophisticated CAS application that no one even knows exists:

How time flies. This is my grand daughter. Senior prom. Wasn't it just yesterday I held this little baby in my arms?  :o

Anyway. The girl has a 3.9 GPA and wants to major in AI. You go girl!  ;D I'm not sure what college she decided upon yet. I'll find out at her graduation party on the 26th.

I do like to use the datasheets from TI (LM723, see attachement).
There is another one from TI for the uA723, attached it as well.

If you want to have a look at the die, check out this thread: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/projects/lm723-die-pictures/

For more details, check out the website from Wolfgang (TEA fellow here as well): https://electronicprojectsforfun.wordpress.com/power-supplies/a-collection-of-proper-design-practices-using-the-lm723-ic-regulator/

Please forgive me my ignorance, but what is a "3.9 GPA" and a major in "AI"? For the last one my guess would be "Artificial Intelligence" as a part of computer scieneces.

OK. GPA = Grade Point Average. Maximum is 4.0. So she essentially has a 95% or better high school course average. She be a smart cookie.  :-+ And yes.....AI = Artificial Intelligence. She wants to be an engineer like you geeks.  :-DD
