Do you mean that in a general existential sense as in any person with said illness, or just me personally...?  :o
The former.

There is a kind of cross-over between Nixie tubes and Thyratrons.
They are called ITS1A or ITS1B.

Here is an example:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/171762027699

They are rare and expensive beasts but I do like their colour and the presentation of the digit.

Datasheet for download:
http://www.tube-tester.com/sites/nixie/dat_arch/russian-book-0001.djvu

Edit:

added a detailed description for a clock with six ITS1-A including some schematics.
Source: http://www.nixiekits.eu/service.php

Some pictures and a description in english:

There are now some deliciously brilliant emerald green LEDs being made; pretty sure someone is making 7-segment displays of them by now. I know, not the same thing... but still...  :-//

Alternately, some folks are making 7-segment LED displays that are RGB, so you can mix the color custom.

Here's where I first saw them, pretty sure you can source them elsewhere: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13999

Winter is not over yet. Looks like we are in for a pretty good hammering. Not an excessive amount but enough to make getting around a challenge. Later when it gets light outside I'll stand in the window drinking my coffee and watching the minions trying to get to work. I remember a time when I was one of those minions. But I do have a vested interest insuring those minions get to work to pay for my SSI so I can continue to stay home and laugh at those poor bastards.  :P :-DD

I always factor the shipping in when bidding on the bay.  Max bid is total I’m willing to pay shipping cost -. There are plenty of things that never get a bid as a result.

If it jams, force it.  If it breaks, you needed a new one anyway...

Yeah, it’s coming down at a pretty good clip here, too.  Hard to believe that it was in the mid sixties a day and a half ago.  Gotta love New England weather….  ::)

LOL, everyday this week has been 28 or 29C.  :horse:
Physical work means sweating like a rapist so weez takes it easy in the middle of the day.
At least the mid teens overnight now permit a good sleep if it wasn't for the new TE that one must spend time exploring.  :)

2 days ago we had temps as high as 18C and it melted all the prior snow. But Mother Nature has decided we need a fresh blanket of snow.  |O

We've had a fair roasting this year in Auckland with temps high for weeks longer than usual but as grandma used to say we follow the northern hemisphere so our turn of your stuff is coming but a cold one is a few years overdue.
Never had snow here but have been out in the sleet which is pretty miserable stuff if there's a howling gale with it too.
Don't care much these days as the young ones can work 7 days in the shite like I did for decades but now it's their turn.   :phew:

I don’t ski, and it doesn’t get me out of school anymore, so at this point in life I have no use for snow.

Yesterday was kind of weird, it was very cold and then in the space of 10 minutes we had, rain, sleet, snow and brilliant sunshine, so I don't know about you Mericans saying "if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes, over here it was down to 2.5 minutes  :-DD

Yeah, over here a little east of you it's snowing and melting at the same time. Gonna be prime icy roads conditions if the temps drop even a couple degrees from where it is now, which is prolly why the kiddles have a snow day today.

Bah, had hailstorms every 10 minutes yesterday while I was trying to fettle the front brakes on the TT ready for its MOT today. Naturally the sun came out as soon as I was finished
  >:(

The brakes were both better and worse than I had thought. The pistons were seized in the calipers, but wound back in easily, and with the slider pins cleaned and greased, they function, more or less. The pads did not need replacing; they were as new, it had purely been the seized pistons causing the lack of braking force.

On the down side, it looks like I'll have to replace the flexies when I replace the calipers, which promises to make an easy job into a right faff. At least they are generic VAG parts, so cheap and easily sourced.

AWWWW YIISSSSSSSS!!!

I have FINALLY found the HDD option for my TDS784C!  ;D
I thought I could see it peeking through the side vents in the photos in the auction listing for the TDS714L I just bought and I was right! Yay!

Now to wander off and get some IDE adapters and a compact flash card to copy the contents of the HDD to my PC and replace it with something solid-state.

Also, I need a colour screen, the one in this TDS714L has a crack at the connector pins, so it's fkd. That's low priority for now though. I gotta sell some of these other TDS600/700 scopes first... Now I have 7 here!  :-DD
Where does all this test equipment keep coming from?!?
