It would still be bigger than that.  :-DD

Make fun of muh bootayy-breakfast all ya want; it's still one of muh favourite meals... >:D
   Edit:"Head cinema off"

Dammitt... now I find myself in a bit of a quandary. My original joke was quite innocently (well, to certain definitions of the word   ;)) suggesting breakfast served off her bootay on the morning after... and the shenanigans which would then ensue, what with nibbling of bacon and lickling of syrpple and such...  :scared:

But since these other connotations have been raised... and seem to cause much more interest... Hmmmmm... maybe I should entertain the notion of making such a post. Would definitely top med's octagenarian escort service... >:D

Clearly COVID is over in the UK as 60,000 are heading for Wembley. Give me Sport and/or COVID  :palm:

Not helped by the fact that you just have to say you tested negative to be allowed to go. Many fans are throwing the tests in the bin and just using the barcode to register a "negative" test.
Money before public safety, wins every time at the moment. Look at the tower block in Miami that collapsed, Grenfell Tower, how do these charlatans sleep at night  :-//

From what I've seen in news reports the Champlain tower issue was at least partially the residents not wanting to pay the tens or hundreds of thousands each for repairs.
Bad idea to purchase high rise homes, makes you very vulnerable. Assuming they had the money in the first place, given the chance of foresight they would now agree to pay it. Never liked the thought of living in a place like, any problem, and you're all involved, and in for the ride. The loss of life in that is so sad, I feel for the friends and family, left without their loved ones.

@bd139, here is the link to the Brentwood school, yesterday and today another school in Colchester has an entire year excluded for same reasons, this is a growing trend.

https://www.essexlive.news/news/essex-news/essex-covid-st-martins-school-5588865?utm_source=essex_live_newsletter&utm_campaign=daily_newsletter2&utm_medium=email

This morning I witnessed 2 classes of school children, with their teachers, walking between their school and the playing fields of another nearby school. They were in 2 distinct groups, each group distanced from the other, carrying sports equipment and the children and teachers with each group, closely packed and not a mask between them :palm:

Yeah saw that. It’s stupid. It’s not because anyone is sick. It’s because someone might be sick. No one I know round here is sick and everyone’s kids are off. It stinks of cargo cult thinking.

My nephew is in catering college, and he has confirmed Covid and the college is now also shut down for the duration.

my bet on that thing in florida is "flat slab punching shear failure".  a well understood problem with the connection between slabs and thin vertical pillars.  difficult to detect until the failure occurs (especially because the cracks would be on the top of the slabs and would be hidden under tile or flooring or carpet).

could be lots of underlying causes.  designed wrong?  installed wrong? poor quality or wrong materials?  who knows.

scary stuff.

Most likely also complete lack of once-required safety inspections; another inevitable fallout of massive deregulation under Governor Nosferatu's reign. The guy championed reverse-mortgages, the deregulation of payday loan-sharking, and systematically gutted every state government agency intended to serve the public or to protect the citizens from anything. Of course after 6 years of tag-team licking Chump's arse with Ted Cruz, he's now one of the GOP's golden boyzz in Congress.  :palm:

Incidentally, while it would be easy to mistake him for Voldemort from the Potter film franchise, the moment he opens his toadying lips it quickly becomes clear this is not the case; there are some lows to which even that fictional demon would not sink.

Has anybody seen any photos for this ebay item at all? When I click on the link, I dont see any photos. I have twice now requested from the seller some photos and twice nothing is forth coming. I'm leaning towards it being a scam via the sellers account being hacked, why do I think this? Because he normally sells VW spares and all his other items have photos and they have good feedback as well, so not responding seems out of character for this seller, but if his account has been hacked, he wouldnt have received my messages so could be unaware of whats is happening?

What  item?

Oops sorry, my bad, wife yelled into the lab that the freezer was defrosting so I had to dash and I forgot to post the link, so here it is

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184908937032

You mean those pictures?

Yes, those ones and the other missing 3 are where? As if by magic, those 3 you posted are now also appearing on my eBay page as well  :-+

Hmm, that could be a bad screen or as per Daves video, a bad hot bar connection, which I don't relish doing as I have never yet been succesful in that dept.  :palm: |O Anyway, I suspect that the price will sky rocket nearer the closing stages of the auction and it is only a 20MHz  :o

Been sleeping most of the day which means I'll probably be awake all night again.  :palm: Almost no pain laying down. Some pain while sitting. Getting up and walking around.....ouch. So about same as yesterday which I consider progress. Don't need no post surgical complications.  :scared:

Anyway, got the Fluke 8050A calibrated. Surprisingly this guy needed some tweaks. But all good now.

Next up after overnight power on. Fluke 8000A.

On the schools it’s amazing what you can do with a COVID test to get a 10 day holiday for you and your friends. My eldest’s year has been taken out for 10 days as well. This is a single invalidated home test.

I suspect you mean unvalidated.

Amazon.ca Heads-Up: 0805 Resistor Sample Book

CAD$13.49 at:https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08P8TYQ2S/

For those in the Great White North... this Amazon is worth jumping on while you can. I got two because they promised 170 different values of 1% 805 resistors; I was figuring there had to be some skeevy catch, like a short 10-20ct strip of each or somesuch, so I bought two. But no... what came was 2 books of 1% 0805 resistors, 50 each in standard E24-Series values from 0R0 to 10M0. That's 8500 pieces for 13.49 Canuckistan shekels or US $9 & change each.

So much for double-filling one book to recycle the other for my caps!  :-DD

@mnem dwagon

We finally got the electronic toys out for a first bash.  Sometime post-birthday we finally got both dry weather and free time on Canada Day.
Very happy with the toys chosen  :-+  SWMBO wants one now too...
(Attachment Link)
You will notice that the front LED light bar took a hit in a tumble.  I actually found the missing LED in the grass to be able to solder it back on.
Also considering different LED colours just to differentiate between the 2 trucks.

First experience indicates that heat sinks for the motors are highly recommended!

However, I found some extras when I was shaking out the gravel at the end.
(Attachment Link)
That is the cup for the end of the front drive shaft and one of the bearings for the front differential.
Not sure if you can see from the photo, but the remains of a M2x8 screw are still inside that cup.
It looks like the screw sheared off, allowing it to come apart.  No missing parts  :phew:
Does the tinkerDragon have any suggestions to try remove that tiny frustration from the cup?
I will take some time tonight to see if I can find these parts to order replacements/spares.
In the meantime, I just might have to convert it to 2WD, but that is a lot of disassembly/reassembly to achieve that...  :-/O

There's a rabbit hole eagerly awaiting your arrival:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/233976812267
https://www.ebay.de/itm/174486769029

McBryce.

Oh booooyyyy .......
All those lovely parts to play with on the bench, and none of those links had the part to replace the one that is jammed.

I was happy to let the dwagon lead the way down the rabbit hole to know what worked and what did not.
The error of my ways was to not realize that the rabbit hole has branches...  :scared:

Wow, posting has turned into a nightmare tonight!

For the nth time, the item hiding inside the Fluke hard case of mystery is...

...a Scopemeter!

This was a hock shop find that was very lightly used, if at all.  The reference lead for the green probe was still in the package and looked like it was still twisted together from the factory.

That's okay; keep reading. I took the time to set you straight.  ;)

I ordered a few crash parts while I was on Banggood looking for that front diff for you, BTW:

We'll see if I can actually disassemble one of those "CV" joints without damaging/losing parts... I have one that clicks incessantly, even tho I've lubed it 3x...

There have been several posts on what could have gone wrong.  All of the ideas could be correct.
Here in the great white north, we had our own incident where all of those things all went wrong all at the same time.
Only difference was that it was a shopping centre, not a residence:

I feel like this guy who slept for 20 years in the Catskill Mountains. Actually, not all that different from the Ham Hobos.  :-DD I think in the past 24 hours I slept something like 18 hours. And I still have considerable pain when getting up and trying to move around. Sitting or laying down is almost pain free. So I took one of those oxy's which I don't like to do but I need to get things done around here like take a shower. I must smell real sweet by now.  :palm:  ::)

Back in my Hiking days we would go a week or so with just a wash in a cup of water every other day, smell was never an issue. If you were first one back and showered gee did the later arrivals STINK  :-DD
Coffee, Food, R/C and electronics nerd in no particular order. Also CNC wannabe, 3D printer and Laser Cutter Junkie and just don't mention my TEA addiction....
