Wetware TE is mucho annoying. Very fiddly. Anyway, finally got a Type K to test my recent purchase, the Fluke 51. Fluke does what Flukes do, sez BAM.
The lab corner for doing rudimentary analysis of the pool water is being set up. I take issue with the definition of "calibration" that Milwaukee Instruments are using -- they've got an automatic 2-point calibration/adjustment cycle that they simply refer to as "calibration" where one dips the probe first into 7,01 and then either 4,0 or 10,01 solutions; the instrument finds out which is which and adjusts itself. Quite painless, even if nomenclaturally wrong.
The instrument, OTOH, feels sturdy and the firmware is quick and easy to understand. Automatic temperature compensation is cool.
Further, my "thermal probes by the slow boat" arrived today. One of the probes actually turned out to be a Type K (shown here freshly fitted with a proper quality plug, replacing the red/blue fork crimps); the others are NTC.
Sort of annoying, but that's what one gets for shopping cheap gear from stores that specialise in bad Allen setscrews, thermal probes, lingerie, rice cookers and vibrators "for medical purposes".
Still cheaper than going to Elfa or RS.
