Well, you are up there in the Great White North now - dog sleds aren't as efficient as wheeled vehicles for package transport.   :P

If it is like the 1502, it will not work without batteries. "Battery fakers" are unreliable in my experience.

The 1502C works fine without the battery on mains supply. The 1502C battery however is easily available for no cost (like €15,00).

The 1502 PSU is very different - to any other PSU in existence :) It stops if the battery is below 10.4V or absent, and the PUJT gives a reasonable mean current but with a hellish crest factor.

It also discharges the battery at ~1mA Ben when off, which leads to small print in the manual stating that the battery should be recharged every month.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

Welcome to the rabbit hole sarge.

I currently live in a smaller-ish apartment, so I can't go completely crazy. That said, though, I already have uhh .. 6 raspberry pi's minimum running at once, a file/services server, many desktops converted to servers and such, embedded devices everywhere for automating my apartment, list goes on; Does all that count? If not, then please let me know, and I'll somehow make more room!

I am, actually. I have chokes on nearly every single wire in here to help with the interference, and I even have three (!!) wireless access points going on. One of them is the starlink router, and will eventually put the dish directly on my main network. In due time! That said though, the noise floor and overall interference is actually quite minimal, and my SDR's/ham radios don't pick up *that* much noise. If anything, I see more interference from my damn refrigerator than anything else  :-DD

For amusement purposes, you all will probably get a kick out of this, then -
Yes, that's my living room. I'm crazy and I know it.

Anybody in need of a 1N829A?
I've bought a lot of two diodes from this seller (NAWTS) and they are looking genuine.
