Simple answer? Hydrogen maser.

I might get PTP from my friends who run the RiSE / SP UTC node in Sweden. (equivalent to NPL / NIST / USNO / DCF) as a tie-breaker..

Re-cap continuing on the Type 321A. The opposite side and underneath is done. Now starting on this wall of shame. The problem is that the goopy plastic has almost completely obliterated the markings on the capacitors. So it's slow going measuring and verifying and doing one pull at a time...

Sometimes wiping hazy plastic with a paper towel dampened with vegetable oil improves clarity enough to read what's under it. I'd try that in this case too. Of course, you could also cut the plastic off with a X-Acto knife. :-//

I have been wiping the plastic and it does help to read the values. I tired the X-Acto knife method and removed the plastic and guess what? It completely removes all remaining markings.  :palm:

D755 battle starts. I'm surprised it was even working with this primary filter caps!

Back from the roadtrip and look what followed me home. Thought I got a deal on a SMU-alike unit. Trying it out I realized, it definitely is what it says on the box: "Precision DC Voltage and Current Source" Nobody said readback of said applied voltage or current.
It can limit, but will show overload when it does. And that is what is shown in the picture, charging a Lipo with the full 120mA it can supply and a max voltage of 4V. As it is on the brink of falling below 120mA and going into CV float, it flickers between oL and 4.000V.
Somehow I think I'm the muppet today. Goes to show you only see what you expect :palm:

Ok D755 power supply refurbished

Before

After. Old caps removed, board cleaned, heatsink cleaned, new thermal compound, wire lands cleaned out ready for reinstallation.

Next job is to work out how to get a mains line into it as the weird ass connector has disintegrated. I have a few cable boots and some ideas to play with...

Bah, missed discord again  :palm:, spent the time driving around the supermarkets in a failed attempt to purchase some Mother's Day cards and presents, all cards and flowers etc completely sold out  :wtf:

Shows how little imagination these accountants have in controlling the stocks they buy and hold. During this pandemic, they have had pretty much a monopoly on things like cards etc as the card shops are not allowed to open. Wouldn't you have thought that they would have ordered larger stocks knowing that they had the market cornered?
