Revisiting the Thermal Camera Rabbit CAVE it is both expansive and expensive :palm:

I've got a used ISG Talisman Wasp TIC coming. It's got a 320 x 240  Raytheon BST (Barium Strontium Titanate) sensor with 8μm to 14μm sensitivity. It is an ex airport fire brigade unit so hopefully not as bashed up as most ex-fire units.
We will see when it arrives. I've also got a low resolution mechnically scanned Agema AGA 110 that is basically a civillian verrsion of the AN/PAS-7

His first mistake. Owning a Hummer. Giant POS. After foaming it up he should have driven it off a cliff.

He would have no problem with a Jeep Fiat.
After a while, it is bound to burst into flames, conveniently thawing out! ;D

There's an audiophool born every minute.  ::)
If the vendor was targeting the audiophool market the price would have been much higher and the description would have been pure BS.

Correction: The vendor is targeting the audiophool market. He has other listings for smaller quantities of vintage caps at some ridiculous prices.

I think I missed an opportunity to make a killing. I should have offered up all the pulled capacitors to the Audiophools.

"Burned in and fully derated beaded tantalum capacitors"

"Gently used aluminum electrolytic capacitors run on 100% pure Tektronix electrons"

 :palm:

And they cater for the videophool market too, one fully aged & burn-in tested picture bulb, only $40 start price (think they would have to pay me a lot more than that to take that crap away).

Motto of the day? Hit bd139 with keyboards?  :-DD

The Logitech G810 I got when Maplin EOL'ed themselves still works fine.  :)

It replaced a cheaper Saitek Eclipse II that I had for many years, the less said about the 'P' key the better which was occasionally intermittent (manufacturing problem with a spec of crud between the flexible circuit layers), the Saitek even survived my attempt to destroy it with Irn-Bru, not sure the replacement would (having said that I no longer drink that since they replaced the sugar with horrid testing chemicals, no longer 'original & best' the can lies  :--).

You could consider powering all that from a low-cost-branded non-working Powersupply, for just €250! https://www.ebay.de/itm/Voltcraft-PS-152-A-DC-Power-Supply-H-572-DL/154359328974

McBryce.

P.s. The original new price of this supply was around €70.

Finally, I've got my speakers back. Foam was replaced, looks pretty good to me.
I'll put them back to their places and give them a test later. Can't do that ATM while in a teams call.

Yeah they put a lot of time in to ruin that, they should have sent it to eWaste not eBay.

Pity it wasn't the 5AMP7A version and in good condition, as I have a HP scope in need of one.

Had a first look at the 492BP. seems to be basically working including above 1.8GHz.  :-DMM
It's very clean, nice bright, sharp display. Last calibrated in 2019 with seals intact  :). The front cover includes not just the diplexer and 26.5GHz mixer but the extra display filters.
All in all very happy with it.

I got more metrology toys this week. I found this set on ebay. The price was fair for a complete set (1, 10, 100, 1K, 10K, 100K) so I sent a really low offer. Seller just accepted it  ;D In the end I paid around 16$ each resistor.

They are NBS (National Bureau of Standard) style secondary resistor standards from Leeds and Northrup. The resistor is immerged in mineral oil and encapsulated in a metal container. To improve thermal dissipation they can be optionally immerged in an oil bath.

I measured all of them and they look good. The oil need to be changed though. It's supposed to be transparent and is now kind of brown.

I destroy keyboards. They get hammered the shit out of them 10-12 hours a day. I’ve never had one last more than 6 months  :-//

This particular one was an Apple magic keyboard 2 which died after 6 weeks. My eldest nicked my Durgod K320 as she murdered her Ducky one with some Monster. I sold my spare K320 a while back (Expenses claimed  :-DD). So I ordered another K320 today (same day delivery) and it got delivered somewhere random but not to me  >:(. Apple are RMAing the magic keyboard and I’ll get a new one Friday.
   https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XPHQW6G

I'm very happy with my Logitech G413 Silver keyboard. Build as a tank and it feels nearly undestructable.

Added to my Wish List for future investigation. I have to admit... since using this cheap-ass Redragon K506, which is built on just a cheap stamped steel upper plate, nothing less than metal core is ever going to be good enough again. Even tho it's a cheap n-rollover membrane design, the rigidity and distribution of weight make all the difference in the world.

Especially when it's getting hammered on with dragon claws/paws/hamfists.  :-DD

For $16 Canadian/piece you stole them. Good deal.  :-+  But.....are you sure that oil isn't PCB? If they date back to the 1970's and the oil hasn't been changed there's a good chance it is.

There was an inconclusive thread about what type of oil to use.
