@bd, I found another delicious use for the cholula chipotle hot sauce...mix with hummus.  8)

Dang gonna buy some of that for the weekend. Thanks for the tip  :-DD

On the fourth bottle now  8)

thats the bottle with the lady on the label and a round wooden top?  loved the stuff.

but the rotten kid preferred some crap called "texas pete" and so the cholula hot sauce was banished.

the kid has been out on her own  for over 15 years and swmbo still will not buy the good stuff.

only got about 6 inches of snow and it was turning to light sleet as i started to clean off the snowblower (did my driveway, and one across the street, and one next door.   (the lady across the street pays me with homemade soup, and the lady next door usually drops off cookies).

Yup, that's the stuff. The original is great, but I really love the flavors, particularly chipotle. You should buy your own stash, hide it in the lab or something.  >:D

Unfortunately I have to let go of my 2 blades with 1TB RAM each :(
They are out of support and our infrastructure wants them dismantled.

Did not ask because everytime I started my investigation I was bouncing against a rubber wall of "not possible"
what is in your eyes the best system for a 10-20TB FreeNAS?
Or in other words what is the max limit for a ITX system in RAM?

I put it on my tablet and handed it to my wife. An hour later, I can still hear her playing with it upstairs. :-DD

Woke up at 02:30 to take a piss and figured I'd provide a quick update....

Been snowing continuously since approx 18:00 Wednesday evening. Hard to tell how much is out there in the dark but it's a significant amount. The County seems to be struggling to keep our road open. I've heard them come through a few times with the plow. Our parking area has been plowed once but will obviously need it again. Storm is expected to continue until about 13:00 today. Current temp is -8 C and breezy.

Once it gets daylight I'll provide a pix.

And stolen from the Facebook Tek Group....

Who thought this was a good idea? Talk about having your head up your ass. And how did it make it through the corporate structure? Some executive must have liked it and everyone brown nosed him.  :P

Can you imagine today's roving Snap-On dealer talking about and trying to sell this with a straight face?

Asscilloscope and bargain basement colonoscopies.     :-DD

You lot whine more about the weather than we do and it’s our national sport.

Anal-o-scope reminds me of a company I worked for. All their internal stuff was suffixed “omatic” for comedic reasons. I did consider using analomatic for their commissions analyser but quite frankly I didn’t have the balls to at the time. I would do it now without even second guessing it :-DD

At a former job, some of the devices sold were named "Pro-" something.
So for an internal test device, I chose the name "Pro-Test"

Whining? Not whining....just providing facts. I'd love to see a storm like this hit London. Talk about major whining. And probably take a month to shovel out.  :P :-DD

It’d just melt before it did anything. Usually does  :-DD

Remember being stuck at a bus stop in Chiswick last time it snowed and having to sit next to a discarded half chewed sandwich on the actual bus. And it didn’t settle. It just got wet.  :-DD

<SNIP>

Nope. I said no more dangerous than a overcharged (or shorted) Ni-Cd. But safe enough inside its billet aluminum pris0n that I'm not afraid to use it on a daily basis. Nothing with this level of energy density is safe-safe (which BTW, is ~1/3 the airline limit, and not in a flammable plastic package); and that includes modern NiCd cells which can discharge at a much higher current level than used to be the norm.

As for the insulation... look again. The entire body of the pack is at the same potential as the body of the flashlight. There is double insulation (layers of Kapton tape on top of the plastic liner) at the live end.

I'd definitely consider it safer than say... a loaded pistol. Or computerized voting machines. ;)

Yeah, right, thaat's why there are limits for shipping Lithiums but none for shipping NiCad, Nimh or SLA
And to ship (or carry) a Lithium battery it has to have been tested and approved. Unfortunatly most people don't bother which is one of the reasons there have been multiple shipping accidents with lithiums

To make it worse, the trace on the Anal-O-Scope graphic is somewhat phallic.
At least according to SWMBO (I showed her the picture because she is a linguist)

Whinge mode on:
How hard could it be?
Some battery powered LED lights (actually 14 in total) used to mood light a veranda area just outside the living room, they are chewing through 40 AA batteries every month at 5hrs/day run time.
Two current limited supplies, two series wiring harnesses, removal of the battery case, two stainless steel 'balustrade' wire supports later and I have blown 16hrs.
Whinge mode off;

I am happy with the results - so is SWMBO.
😎

PS Isn't the lm317 a great jelly bean part!

Nice  :-+

Here's the hack job I did with my Christmas tree lights so I didn't get a massive bill. Old nokia USB charger + dropper resistors to knock off half a volt so it didn't run them so bright!

So technically I have USB Christmas tree lights  8)

The storm is just about done and the sun trying to peak thru. Not sure how much is out there. Definitely over a foot but I don't think the 16+ inches predicted...at least not here. So it doesn't beat the monster 18 + we had 3 years ago.

But still a PITA none the less. Later I'll have to go out and clean off/move the CR-V so they can get the entire lot plowed.
