The covers have been cleaned. Internal all it needed was dusting out with a brush. We now have trigger. The wire that was broken was the internal vertical amplifier trigger pulse. Explains why no trigger.

Lots of dirty pots/switches to be dealt with. Preparing a BOM for re-cap but I won't do that until next month.

Going to let it cook for a while. I thought I heard 2 snaps like the HV is arcing over so I need to keep an eye out for that.

Loving that blue-green trace. Reminds me of Oculus 585.  ;D

No limit but you have to prove that you aquired them before 2018. You need 3 because you can't claim less then £30. If you did buy a lot and tried to get a payment for them and they found out it would be fraud as well as a weapons offence.
Hence the naughty list I mentioned. No guts, no glory!  ;D

In this case I'd recommend an ear.   :-DD

Mouser arrived. A modern 8,2 µF capacitor is very small compared to the prehistoric one in the 410b, which I of course coulda seen from the various recap subthreads in here, just under the blue paint.  I'm going to start with the new wiring loom, though.

It's been on for a few hours now and no additional issues observed. Other than possibly 2 snaps shortly after power up which might have been the HV arcing over there haven't been any more weird noises. The roll off in the vertical noted earlier is actually the calibrator waveform itself. I applied my test square waves and they are perfect.

For now it's going to just cook and see if anything pops up. No calibration or compensation will be done until after re-cap is completed next month.

Edit....and the only place the cabinet gets warm is directly over the 6DQ6A Beam Power Tube. The rest stays cool. So I can see why no fan was installed.

If the 6DQ6A is being used as a switch, hard on or fully off, it should not get too hot. Needs to have a big enough cathode to provide all those electrons so still needs to be a power tube.

I don't think it's switching on and off like a true SMS supply. The 30kHz oscillator feeding it is a sine wave so it's on all the time basically functioning like a Class A amplifier. Therefore, she gonna get warm. But the tube is built for it. It has a plate dissipation rating of 15 watts.

The Type 503 has differential inputs so 5kHz triangle wave on the left input, 5kHz sine wave on the right. That strange resultant waveform again. The weird math that I forgot what you guys called it.

Tomorrow all the switches and pots get a good cleaning.

Promo Code is 8407744 in case it doesn't show up in your browser.

Okay... for those who actually live the iLife... is there some unbelievably simple, should be obvious even to a lobotomized prizefighter, "Why are you even bothering...?"
solution to put a shortcut icon on the desktop of your iPud/iPwn to a specific folder on iCloud?

Because the solution I found using the Shortcuts widget is infuriatingly recursive and completely non-intuitive. |O

Closest I know is to add it as a “favorite” in the files app. Long press on the folder icon to get the context menu.

Also I will not be around discord later on as I have other plans.

X-Y problem. This is the Y bit i.e. the proposed solution. What’s the X bit, the problem you are trying to solve?
