Yeah their work was excellent as well. This was milspec stuff. But if the parameters were even slightly changed it was a train crash!

Weren't they taught how to read prints and basic schematics? They were at IBM.

No this was heavily compartmentalised stuff. Literally they were trained to stuff boards. The red thing goes in here, the blue thing goes in here etc. Anyone with a modicum of ability or qualification was pushed higher up the production tree or left instantly where the pay was better.

BTW to all UK eBayers: that HP 427A is MINE. If anyone outbids me I'm going to leave a bag of flaming poop on your doorstep :-DD

Didn't know the 427A was a RF or microwave power meter.  :-DD Good luck.

Great movie and certainly a bit of an eye opener to what was happening behind the scenes at the time.  :-+

NASA Langley Labs was (is) located in Virginia which at that time was a Southern Segregation State. Hence the "Colored Women Only" bathrooms, etc. It wasn't until the mid 1960's that those laws were finally struck down for good. And up until 1966 the Lady Cop and I could have been fined or even jailed for being an inter-racial couple. It's a sobering thought. But unfortunately while the laws have changed the attitudes haven't. We get dirty looks from middle aged white women all the time. Usually the "Angry Karen" types. Luckily none has ever said anything to us which keeps my record of not hitting a woman at zero....so far.  >:(

Sucks it's still like that anywhere. Very few care what colour or polarity you are here in London :-+

Eh, of course I mean: Good luck!

And that's very noticeable in the British TV shows where the races seem to intermix with no conflicts. I think that's one reason why she likes to watch them.

Now, that's the spirit! Just realised I'll have to rearrange my shelf order if I want the 400H in besides the other valve gear. And, I still need to look for a 410b or a 410c, and own the problem of a heated probe. I already have one, the Marconi TF1041b. But the -hp- AC/DC VTVM is the one I have a desire to own.

suppose if he is serious i could mail him some.  (does dog or cat matter?)

EDIT   never mind.....it just occurred to me that he means to use his own.   don't you people have laws over there?

It's one of our few good characteristics.  :)

For quite a long time, whenever I got into a conversation about 'race' I always ended up saying something qualified with "... but I don't really know that many Black people". Then later I think for a bit and realise that I had inadvertently mislead people because my mate Mani is almost as black as the ace of spaces, Charlie's Indian, Reg is Chinese,... and I work through my list of friends and realise that half of them are what some people would class as 'non-white'. Us Londoners just don't see someone's 'colour' first any more unless someone draws our attention to it. In the last few years the only overt racism I've overheard in London is from the odd old white man, the odd Islamophobe nutter (also usually male and white), and, ironically, young Black men.

Not TEA related, but tea related. Good music and ingredients for christmas cookies bakery.
Arrived the other day from Amazon.

 :)

Edit:
No, this is NOT any kind of esoteric ting-a-ling stuff. These are music collaborations from Sina, the female drummer which has been mentioned here occasionally.

Welp... for good or evil, it has a roof so it is now actually a building. All that remains is to build a floor/base, slide it up on there, and hang the doors. :o

Wouldn't it have made more sense to have build the floor/base first and then built it directly onto that  ::)

Tea: original Keysight test leads for 34xx1a
Vivado Design Suite installed.
Busted an RX590, already RMAed.
Reinstalled current tesla drivers for my 4 P100.
Fuckery with Ryzen drivers on W7.
X370 board w/ 3600x booting off an Intel PCIE NVME SSD into W7 ultimate. What a driver clusterfuck.
Especially with the RX590 dying on me. Bloody hell ...

Next: get a license for Vivado and check if platform cable is working. Then build pynq for zedboard and test out the board.
Clean up and get rid of a couple of computers, stereo sets and pinballs. Get a house and a Malinois. Emigrate to the alligator islands ...
