"...Wondering where I am, I'm lost without you.

I dispute that my language was rude in any way. I am totally aware of the special sense of "productive" in this forum. It means more, funnier and sillier TEA stuff. All for it !
But is time to get out of the Tek time loop.  8) Otherwise Alzheimer will come and get you, definitively.

@FransW:

Dude... you have GOT to be more careful when cutting/pasting quotes. What you posted was nigh-indecipherable... and I was involved in that original conversation.  :-DD

Then, when others respond to that post, it makes the fustercluck even fusty-err...  :wtf:

Cheers,

Med, at least you do remember.
Your TEK's do not.
They were fabricated before the discovery of memories.

Lots of weirdness going on here the last few days. You guys need to lay off the skunky beer or whatever it is you're smoking.  :o :P :-DD

Or join these guys for a long walk.    ;D ;D

Yep, some of the lyrics on those songs are a bit suspect today, but at the time they were topical.

I've a bunch of old microwave proximity sensors, if anyone wants to play with one. Yours for the price of postage.

That sounds entertaining, shall I PM you?

Sure thing!

Not TE but a general question...

If i put this on my kitchen ceiling will it automaticly defrost my checken?    :-DD

No, but the sensor can detect you through walls, doors and floors unless they are thick concrete or metal,
constantly requiring me to explain to clients that they are not on all the time.

I've a bunch of old microwave proximity motion (they were used as proximity sensors in the application) sensors, if anyone wants to play with one. Yours for the price of postage.

Microwave sensors, product of the devil. They were often used in schools and because the things can sense you through walls, it would mean that lights in adjacent classrooms etc would often be ON even when there was nobody in the rooms. Much rather have the passive Infra-red sensors but of course they did not have the range of the microwave ones, thus slaves would be required to provide adequate coverage in classrooms and classrooms etc.

I can see a beauty and a BEAST (both are the same but it's not plasticky at all). But what excactly is this other thing there on top of the BEAST? What's the translation of "Chinaböller" (literally a fire cracker from china)?

Not my best video for sure.... do not even know why i bought the thing..
But you can see my Dad's old Tek 475 in the back, and its mine now  :-+

Yeah, buy cheapness, cry often. Wonder what it would take to fix it up to something resembling quality.

Given that I paid a bit too much for a decade set (1,10,100,1000 Ω) of DDR and Austrian origin, quality costs, so at least double purchase price, I guess..

It's also interesting what a Kelvin setup would yield in terms of measurement precision.

I agree, when you think that young children are exposed to that kind of radiation for all the time they are at school, it might well in the milliwatt power area, but added to the natural levels of radiation and for the amount of exposure that is a step too far in my view.

My point is that if you remove it, windows defender will do its thing and that’s a perfectly good AV system that doesn’t go fucking mental every two minutes.

I'm happy enough with the extra £61 I paid for that filthy one, at least it works*, was a bit disappointed they cleaned it before sending it though. By the way most TE at work ends up just as dirrty, so I'm kind of used to it.

*Just need to get round to ordering a fuse cap for it, someone lost it & inserted the test lead there instead.  :palm:

P.S. Managed to buy a cheap dual PSU at lunchtime.

Hopefully it'll be OK, I reminded them to pack it so that it doesn't get trashed by the courier (DHL) as the recent one did with GSP.

It has the same OVP crowbar option as yours, just need to find some normal controls for it.

It's non-ionising radiation so no cumulative effect. No other effects at the levels involved.

BTW Nuclear torches (flashlights) actually exist:
https://www.survivalgear.nl/us/betalight-betalight-torch.html
They loose half their brightness in 12.5 years. Availabilty and licence requirements vary by country. I have a couple of betalights. One allows me to find the light switch amongst all the TE in the loft space.

It's no
