What's missing on the photo?
Front panel inputs.  :P

Yes, it's kind of annoying having rear triax connectors only.

Anyway, wrong answer.

BU508A: There's a proper decimal point between 0 and 9, so wrong answer too.

Hint: There's a resistor, an Ampere setting and a Volts reading ...

NIce plan, but wrong answer.

Any one have any idea what kind of HV plug type needed for the big white HV terminal ? Is that proprietary ?

The leads for your tester are probably these, hopefully you will be able to find something to fit.

David

Fairly common for HV kit. It's a standard 4mm plug screwed into the end of a plastic rod. Ideally turn one up on a lathe. A 4mm Plug soldered onto a bit of large coax center conductor and dielectric makes a good alternative. might need a bit of heatshrink to make up he diameter. Even better if you can get a bit of plastic tube that is a good fit and glue a plug into the end of that.

David, thanks.  :-+

That white plug, looks like a mutant banana to me, as it has non standard long body.  ::)

Okay, you've set the CC to 10nA, you are measuring nearly 1V, therefore this is a 100GOhm resistor.
Looking at the cables I'd say they should be better proper PTFE insulated cables.
And you should have something like this:

“Chaos is found in greatest abundance wherever order is being sought. It always defeats order, because it is better organized.”            - Terry Pratchett -

The cabling doesn't seem to be intact, it goes off screen, also at nA don't you have to be much more careful of shielded cables, ptfe pref, also the resistor and cable sitting on the top of a ? metal earth shield of the smu, shouldn't the DUT be shielded separately and be up at the potential of the source, ie proper triax set up?

Yes, it's a bodge, but the reading is correct and stable. So wrong answer too.

This. My immediate counterpart smashed the crap out of himself a month before I broke my arm (which is now healed) and isn't any better as such yet  :(

Fortunately he's a miserable bastard like myself so there isn't a lot of difference  :-DD

Edit: no sign of tinySA dispatch yet despite arrival and tracking ID for Thursday. Wonder how good our drop shippers are this week...

I'll just leave this here before retiring for the evening and sleeping guilt free.  :)

NOTE..... I strongly suggest that if you have a weak constitution you close your browser immediately and call your shrink.  :scared: This could scar you for life. You have been warned.

"Sacrificed so that ours may live"  ;D  :-/O :-DMM

OMG you did not make a 'scope tube clock' out of you 465, did you?  :palm:

Nope, I do have my limits and I would not resort to that kind of carnage.  :-DD This 465 did work at one time or I should say several times between failures. For some reason it just couldn't keep running and would puke it's PSU. I fix and shortly after puke again. Also had vertical attenuator issues. So it became a parts mule. It's biggest sacrifice was the CRT to fix a 465B with a CRT that had focus issues. I also sold the Trigger IC's to a fellow blog member. The DM44 was sold to someone on the Tek Facebook group. Almost like an organ donor program.  ;D

I have been riding a lot - since 16yo, moving to mountain biking from road, the cars (well their drivers) on the road is really what scare me now, you don't walk away if a car hits you.
Bugger re the arm bd!

I'm not sure I'd trust 3D printed parts for HV. ABS is a sponge and PLA is full of air pockets. What the breakdown voltage? Creepage distance etc? No idea, then I wouldn't put it between me and a kV source. The original parts look like they are Nylon.

Yeah, this is what I'm wondering about as this thing generates 5kV AC.

WTFE.  ;)   If you're handling that bit while its live, you DESERVE what you get.  :palm:

EDIT: The Probulator end... yeah, I agree. I wouldn't print that; except maybe a hand-grip to go around a nylon, FR4 or glass tube which would be the actual probe.

EDIT-EDIT: Dang... woudja lookit that scary-ass HV cable with just a alligator on the end...? That's like... TURBO Suicide Cord; for when the usual AC Line Suicide cord isn't fast enough...   :palm:
