Definitively  a good seller.

The 10MHz distributor is also something I looking to build for my lab.
Any recommendations ?

Perhaps you want to have a look into this thread:

i Bought mine in Aliexpress a silver/green GB7TBL box... around 50 to 60 ...hardly can build yourself for that.

But it is more fun and one can learn a lot. The price-tag is not all about. :)

Exactly that  :-+

A point to note as well: are you sure you want a 10MHz distribution network? If you run it on shitty coax and connectors it'll radiate in the lab to the point you may end up with -40dBm signals everywhere...

Quick sanity check. I'm thinking about returning this...

E3630A £100.

As shown:

As received (different unit):

Case cracked....

Missing binding post cap (also not turning very well):

Difficult to show but there are gashes out of the screen:

Internal inspection shows that there is also a bulging cap in the power supply.

Typically points to it being dropped at some point.

Binding post is £10.57+VAT from Keysight. Cap is £2. But at the same time that's not the point and I'm pissed I didn't get what I paid for. Recentish keysight branded cal is good though and it's an actual Agilent branded unit. And it appears to work though.

It's not the same unit as pictured. And that original pix is typical of All Test. Is that who sold it? Usually they will list the S/N to insure there's no "bait and switch"

Not all test. Local seller. They had 4 available for sale and listed the best looking on by the looks as the image.

Hmmm....sounds like you might not have a good argument to return it unfortunately.  :-//

Edit.....but you might have a good argument to get a partial refund.

Item stated "Please study the photos for exact item condition". Thus return has been started.

Consumer law here is pretty hardcore so they don't have a choice but to accept the return.

Open a dispute with eBay. The pictures are supposed to be of the item being sold on the listing. When I was selling Fluke 25 meters, had a few to flip and I listed each one with its own set of photos, including photos of the serial numbers so there was no way that a buyer could claim that they did not receive the right item.

That wording alone should result in good outcome for you.  :-+

Edit. Seeing your photos and the damage done, makes you really begin to appreciate the sturdiness of the older style of TTi power supplies like the PL and TS series with their metal construction.

If that's the case then I would have to agree too. "Not as pictured"

Edit....hopefully it doesn't turn into a pissing contest like dragon had with that Fluke meter.

Yeah I have to agree there. The TTi supplies are much better. The thing is that that little Agilent box is three power supplies in one box which gets a little large and bulky with the TTI's  :-DD

Ask them to supply the one shown.

If local local, go and choose which one you want.

Or let them get away with it, selling the best to someone else.

Yup... clearly "Item not as described". Item was described and photo'd as being in good cosmetic condition; this unit is broken and missing bits. If the unit has creases/scuffs in the screen area that blur the numbers or make them look fuzzy, that is a functional fault. If the seller has any sense whatsoever, he'll offer to pay you off 20-30% to just go away considering the cost of shipping back on his account.

You might be able to squeeze him for more, but getting that unit cal'd for 70 quid (USD$92) even in "Ding & Dent" condition... I'd probably jump on it.

Agreed, but with separate power supplies, if you lose one, that is all you lose, but with 3 in a box, lose a critical part and you lose all 3, I may be short on desk space but I'd rather go the TTi route personally, but thats me all over. :-DD

Oklayyy... I'll cop to being skint (broke-ass) most of the time; but that is not the same as being a skinflint (cheap-ass).

While I HAVE been trying to hone my Ferengi skillzz by studying bd's textbook example of the principles thereof, I must admit I just am not naturally that predatory.  :-DD

In my defense, I submit my recent purchases of the 54645A, MS8911, ESR02 Component Tester, 6022BL, and even my DE-5000; all of which I paid a very fair price for. :-+

As for all my curb-scores and Thrift scores... I'll admit there was more than a bit of shrewdness there. But that really was more luck and being in the right place at the right time than Fereng-ity. :-//
