neo had a lot of TE. We suspect he may have been killed by it falling on him or something else horrible. RIP.

I couldn’t tell you what neo would do.  Personally, I’d unload my football gear from the back of the truck and fill the tank and head on my way.

Watch out, this could be a series problem also for other electronic enthusiasts.
Occasionally, when too much test equipment, especially old and heavy boatanchors, is
accumulated in a room graviTEA will sponanteously form a black TEAhole and eat up
the deplorable researcher and his equipment, leaving only some awkward rubble behind.  >:D

Hi bitseeker,

how's it going with the catchup?   :-DD

...

Since even skimming text is no longer feasible, I've resorted to scanning until an interesting pic makes me stop and look around. ;D

It's working pretty well so far. I've been adding entries to the POI along the way, too.

This for sure will. I have warned you.   >:D

Ack! Where's that Internet bleach?

If this is chinese fake... they do a hell of a good job!.

not bad for 59,- to my door. 8)

That's a jammy good price for a real one. Usually, the gray-market ones have no paperwork or fake paperwork with misspellings. The so-called fake ones seem to have the real IC inside, but I never heard where they're really coming from (factory rejects?).

If there's no warranty left, open it up and see if it's got RF shielding painted into the inside of the enclosure. The so-called fake ones don't.

I have the Agilent-branded version of that model. Got it at a jammy good price, RF shielding included.

RANDOM MODE:

For those who thought I was crazy spending CAD$1100 on a water-cooled GPU for my VR machine...  :o

This is now available for ~USD$14K.

OK, going on my "if my current employer goes IPO" shopping list. ;D (Along with the elliptical machine.)

Damn. Got a seller offer on something for 100 quid which is fairly decent but supplants two items I already have which are ancient and cranky.

Thoughts?  :scared:

Edit: gah did it. Now own an Agilent banded E3630  :-DD. May bounce the 6205 now.

Bouncing ancient and cranky stuff never phased you before. I guess you're a bit rusty. :-DD

Since pictures are required...

Do you like the 34410a? Is the fan too loud?

Thanks!

I don't find the fan in mine objectionable. However, when I last checked it a number of years ago, it seemed to drift more with change in temperature than my 34401A's.

I think there's going to be a letter in the mail on Monday banning you from the Welland Canal.

Public Service Announcement

eBay's Buyer Protection works, but you're not guaranteed to have it as a buyer on eBay. If eBay determines (the criteria for which is a secret, apparently) that your purchases have been "risky," then they'll revoke Buyer Protection on your purchases without warning.

I discovered this recently when an item from China was overdue by a month. Going to "Item didn't arrive" greets you with a message that Buyer Protection is not available on your purchase. Thanks, eBay, for punishing me for things outside my control.

Thankfully, the item arrived after all. I guess it's AliExpress from now on for buying goods from China.

Nahhh... I got cousins who live there; can’t keep me away. On the other paw, not sure I want to be IN that water... like EVER. Imogene (the cousin who licks Smurf bellies), is from there.   ???

On a more serious note... the test was real. I tried to link that gif from the Discord tonight and giphy.com popped up a splash saying it had been relisted as private.  :-// If I open the link from a browser window it does the same; so no idea when the cache of it on eevBlog’s server will vaporize.   :P

Yeah... “bellies” sounds good... let’s go widdat. :o

The rest of the stuff. 8082A pulse generator joining my RF and microwave experimentation "tower of power".  :-DD Got to wanting this after seeing CuriousMarc use two of them for his core memory demonstration video a while back. The killer feature for me is directly controllable rise and fall times...perfect for situations where really fast pulses will just ring. Should be very useful for the low-power radar experimentation I play around with sometimes.

Not pictured is another massive bag of Sphere free goodies, ranging from various ICs, to LEDs of many colors, diodes, switches, pots, capacitors....
