At the likely price for one of those I'd hope it comes with it's own dialysis unit, you can probably plug the tubes in a round the back.

Pat's care package of 12AT7s and 6AU6s arrived safely...this has now fully restored the functionality of the Type CA plug-in. I just need to adjust it a bit for the new toobs. An issue remains with the Type 81 Plug-In Adapter. All of the non-type 80 series plug-ins I have EXCEPT for the Type Z exhibit serious 60 Hz hum issues when used in the adapter. Since the Type 81 contains a small transformer, a bridge rectifier, and few caps (including one big can stuffed in), I believe I may need to go all "med" on this thing and replace the caps.  I am quite certain the 585A is not at fault because the Type 82 plug-in functions perfectly.

Did some work on the 6206b this morning. Checked out caps - all good. Calibrated and destickered half of the front. Other half still to go. Annoyed about the scratches from the previous idiot owner who used a screwdriver to get a cal label off.

Ugh! The screwdriver-wielding idiots are much too prevalent. I've passed on many TE because of them.

That has never stopped me from buying something if the price is right and I needed it. I buy things to use, not look at or put on show 

Agreed, but I haven't needed more TE for a while. Thus, aesthetics are a factor.

I just can't help myself. 
Just won a HP 6035A PSU for roughly $100. 0-425V at 0-5A, 800W...  (Auction photo again).
Should be good for prototyping tube circuits etc.

Also a bunch of GPIB cables for $10-15 each and some BNC attenuators of various values for about the same price.

Looks like the coronavirus thing has people offloading gear, with not as many people bidding, which is good for my acquisition of gear, bad for my bank account.... 

Nice catch for $100. I have its sibling, a 6032A: 60 V, 50A. Funny thing is that mine has a sticker on the front: "Danger. High Voltage." It seems to have been meant for your supply.

And I just scored a pair of P6008 probes to go with the Type 82 plugin. It would have come with a pair of these when new.

If it was something I genuinely needed, I'd make the appropriate trade-off, too. Since I haven't needed gear for a while, I've been more picky about the aesthetics as I have to look at it. That's all.

Cool. I have the model after with the "A" suffix. Pro: Channel B can output a positive voltage in independent mode. Con: It has plastic knobs, unlike the aluminum ones on the non-A. I pimped mine a bit in that area. https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repair/power-designs-tp340a-repair-and-facelift/

Well the picture is of the "As Found" sheet, so hopefully they adjusted it and it is now correct. It wasn't that bad anyway. Looks like the top button may have been super-glued though.
Lot of ex MOD Fluke 27's on ebay at the moment some at good prices probably better bet.

Quick 861dw or its new Atten knockoff.

Sold my old Hakko FR802 and got a Quick 861dw together with 100€ in my pocket (once every 10 years I make some profit with TEA...).
I then discover how crappy and retarded the Hakko FR802 was.
Also the Best BST-863 is good, some says it is better than the Quick 861dw... meh 

I personally would not go with the new Quick models, they are surely nice but not worth the extra money IMHO.

Fluke 25/27 won't cause explosions, if operated according to the manual. There's nothing about whether they would survive an explosion.

I'll bet that one would survive a good kicking if it is in the plastic case.

They most certainly would float really well in their protective plastic cases thats for sure.
