Ouch; I wondered if it would be more...

Daughter fell in the Brecons, hurting left elbow. Drove home, being sure to avoid changing gear unless absolutely necessary. (I can't moan too much because she drove; I got myself off a mountain with a stretched ACL) Went to hospital, had broken the bone near the elbow. Now she has a long screw in it. .

I slipped and thwacked my foot on the edge of a stair. Protected foot with hiking boots with wooden sole. After a week I decided to push bike (no car, couldn't afford taxi) to the hospital. Inch long spiral fracture of my fifth metatarsal. Told me to continue wearing boots, cycled home :)

Bones mend. Soft tissue doesn't, except for scars.

Make sure you are taking 10ug Vitamin D3 daily :)

It did cross my mind that if it was still as painful/debilitating as it obviously was that it might be a bit more troublesome than a big owwie. I figured that you're a big boy now and probably didn't need telling to get it properly looked at if it was still troubling you, and I was right (on both counts).

Normally, I'd offer my counsel to take as much advantage of this at home as possible - "No it's not man flu, look at the X-ray. Now, where's my brandy and cigars and that foot massage". However, your circumstances are such that you can't take full advantage. Shall I see if Mnem can drum up a spare redhead for you? He seems to keep them on tap for occasions like this; perhaps Brandi is free?

Not necessary if he lies on the sun lounger in the garden while Brandi brings him iced milk drinks. (Kahlua and milk is a good combination).

Winter is coming.

Easier than milk drinks (because there aren't many alcoholic milk drinks) is a Rennie per day. Suitable amounts of calcium, and even some magnesium which helps absorbtion.

Why are there so many dots visible in the current display?

Ho so they use GSP. Not sure why it's so expensive then.

Because you're paying for shipping twice, and for repacking whether they do it or not, plus a little extra vig for handling the oh-so-difficult business of handling the import duty fees which they charge you separately:palm:

mnem
In short: Because they can. ::)

From my perspective that's the one advantage to the GSP. I haven't gone and dissected it to be sure, but from the rough amounts quoted it looks like their fee for handling the customs paperwork is much more reasonable than the fee that you'll get slapped with if you just order something without pre-paying customs fees and duties and wait for your local carrier to slap on a hefty fee for doing it (often paying less actual taxation than the fee itself).

Well, no... I get that bit.  But it ALL adds up.

Like my example scope; $65 for the scope with $66 shipping because you're paying for 2 shippings: From the vendor to them and then from them to you. And they roll in a repacking fee for everybody, whether they pack like Alltest or they pack like a moron, and from numerous reports here on eevBlog, what they pass on as "not needing repacking" is nearly criminally negligent. :palm: And then they tack on the handling fee for customs, etc, which is generated by a program and requires zero man-hours per piece. *grump-grump*

I agree... they provide a valuable service; they give you a fixed cost UP FRONT to get your purchase from A to B to YOU so you can make an informed decision. :-+ It's just that for most people, paying more in shipping than for the product is the "Ehhhhhh... maybe not." point, no matter how many $$$ are involved. :-\

When you apply that scenario to the Ferengi contingent lurking in THIS crowd... well, you're definitely going to hear a lot of "sour grapes" type noise about it. ;)

Why are there so many dots visible in the current display?

It’s in current set mode. If the output is off which it is there it shows the current limit set on the right display with the extra dots. When you turn the output on they extinguish and it shows the measured current.
