Needed some IPA last week. 1 litre in Germany costs around 19 EUR.  :scared: I politely declined. Used to be 2 EUR some years ago. This stuff is produced in boatloads as industrial waste. :palm:

After a quick search, one of the cheapest offers I've found is this one: 6 Euro / liter inkl. shipping, but one must take 3l:

Getting ready to head out on road trip. Leave here at 0400 hours and gas up the CR-V and gas me up with a coffee and perhaps something to eat.

I have no idea what awaits me in Gettysburg.  :o :-DD

   Fuck me i bought something!

Fluke 8050A with RF probe, original probes, battery option and case in excellent condition for not much. Looks ex military.  Only thing is it’s completely dead. Reckon the fuse is popped and the nicads are toast. Hopefully not crusty!  Edit 2: bet r26 is toast.

Welp, the LCD isn't visibly bleedy even with the power off like so many we've seen... So that at least is hopeful!

Yeah it’s a ridiculously tidy one. Never seen one like it.

More pictures.

But take a bottle with apple juice with you, just in case of getting low blood sugar.
Apple juice is best fighting low blood sugar I've learnt.

So I know a guy that knows a guy.  A couple of weeks ago, he let me know about this trailer full of ham gear and he said, I think he has this shelf rack from Tektronix that you might like.
......
And it turned out that it was filled with components.  There are shelves of switches, capacitors, semiconductors, inductors, and connectors.

The owner said, you want the components? i was just going to scrap them so you can have them for the price of the cabinet.

I said, very slowly, hmmm, well if you insist, I can probably use some of them.

And then I loaded it into the truck as quickly as I could without spilling anything, paid the man, and got the hell out of there before he changed his mind.   ;D
Which got me to thinking.....

I now have two Tek 453's.  Is there a list of recommended spares I should investigate in getting?

Maybe I could help out worsthorse by offering to take some of that haul off his hands?   ;D

Drive scarefully, Mike.  (And based on the freqq's earlier comments, you may be getting some HP ballast for your lab.)

prices for IPA have come down tremendously and are now back at 2.92/l:
https://hoefer-shop.de/technische-chemikalien/isopropanol/10-liter

dunno yet what I'm gonna do with 120l of IPA though ...
