This is the Big Mandingo of the Z-series; DTS 5.1, 10" sub and 505 THX-certified watts of power. Favorite Lindström flush-cutters shown for scale and to keep it somewhat TEA. :P

Nice score! I have a pair of those Lindström cutters and they are indeed excellent. Hide em so no one else  can use them on too big a gauge of wire   ::)

Sorry - that would violate the blood oath I took as a TEA member.
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

Hahaha. So true. I do wonder how spiffy these are after an cloned SSD upgrade. I've used a 1ghz 54835A in years past and it was quite slow. Hoping that a few generations of progress improved navigation a bit  8)

Why do I allow myself to get annoyed? The Type 3B3 plug-in still has not arrived at my local PO. Still somewhere between Springfield, MA and my PO. Less than 100 miles away. Arrived in Springfield this past Thursday.

I had to go to PO this morning to mail a package. So I start asking questions. Get bullshit for answers which I knew I would. But I did gleam something from the conversation. USPS "Ground" packages get ZERO priority. You will get it when USPS is good and ready to deliver it. So the projected delivery date doesn't mean jack. Funny, even ground packages with UPS and FedEx DO mean jack and 95% of the time are accurate.

This explains why earlier this year the Fluke 8505A took over a week to go from Long Island to me. 120 miles away. USPS ground.  :palm:

Yeah, the DHL associate I spoke with on Thursday about my new RC transmitter called today... to tell me that she STILL has no news on my radio, but would now "escalate" my case to some supposedly higher level.  :palm:

I told her that this has now gone beyond late and was now in the realm of the ridiculous; we are pushing 3 weeks for an "Express" delivery.  ::)

mnem
 :bullshit:

It's FINALLY here!!!

I got this on the flash presale when Bang-em-good first offered them; between the sale and my affiliate points, I was able to get The new openTX Hawtness TX16S AND Team Black Sheep 900MHz long-range TX module for $150. That's like buying the module and getting the radio for $50.    SQUEEEEEEE!!!

You'll have to excuse me now... I need to go do... ummm... things.  >:D

I'd offer bean (or someone like him) 75€ to make you something actually nice out of hardwood that incorporates the intact knob subpanel.  >:D

Eh... WOOD?!?

You don't mind when you wake up with wood; why should you mind if you wake up with wood on your 'scope...?  :-DD

mnem
Tastefully done wood, of course.  >:D

I saw the opportunity for innuendo. And I left it on the table. I should have known better...

I thought it was deliberate...  :o  So you wood never set me up like that on purpose...?

...We shall see how that turns out later... right now I have my garage full of industrial sewing machines (curb score from a house in process of make-ready) that I know precisely ZERO about, but my mother's ghost made me save them from the dumpster. She was a textile maestro and I'm sure she'd have plotzed if she saw these.

I know the Juki single-stitch is supposed to be a freaking warhorse; I at least remember that name. I need to do some more research to learn enough that I might be able to flip these quick. Worst case, I get some nice motors and a workbench for the garage. :-+ Gotta figure it out quick, tho... SWMBO will not put up with her car kept outside for more than a few days, even in this loverly weather.

mnem
*shoves my FPV quad another few slots down the priority list* ::)

That Juki is a current model and would set you back ... checks US price ... $1300 new. That's a ****ing lucky score.

Well fuuuu... guess I better get my happy widdle dwagon arse out in the garage and triage the damned things; see if I can get them working. Def worth the time.  :-+

mnem
but... but... but... tiny little whirry flying things...

EDIT: WTF ebay is trolling me, I just had* to buy a Metcal SP200 for £45 shipped   :palm:

*OCPD - Obsessive Compulsive Purchase Disorder - I must buy things that are a good deal.

Hmm, is that a synonym of BLIND or should it have its own entry?

BLIND: Buying Low Is Never Detrimental - Unlike rose-colored glasses, going TEA BLIND when a good deal is on the table rarely works against you. Even if the purchase doesn't do what you hoped, it can fund the next, better piece of test equipment.

There certainly isn't in a modern glider, The Thomas Crown Affair's fake cockpit notwithstanding!

There's only room for one person, and even then they have to be slim :) Seat weight limit ~110kg/17st.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.
Glider pilot's aphorism: "there is no substitute for span". Retort: "There is a substitute: skill+imagination. But you can buy span".

I have a question for bd139 or Saskia, anyone else with expertise also.

What is your opinion on Open Banking APIs?

I'm asking as I've been asked by my Credit Union to use one to provide them with bank statements for a load application.
I am highly sceptical and reluctant, as is my browser guard...

Ah lots of experience with this one. For the end user it’s fine, well designed and secure. For us developers there is a hell of a lot of pain involved to the point there is deep vetting, external certification of code, a million legal hoops to go through etc. It’s perfectly secure.

If it’s Clydesdale, Nationwide, L&G, Monzo then run a mile as they’re a shit show.

Anyway the thing you need to consider is what is consuming it, whether it’s in EU safe harbour, who published it and what their terms are precisely.

Hmmm, it comes without any probes. Could be getting really expensive.
What I'm wondering: a 13GHz scope with BNC connectors? Seriously?   :wtf:
