So a two minute teardown of the Laser supply. Surprisingly they have used a custom Aluminium Extrusion rather than what I expected to be sheetmetal. Good looking modular design and an STM32 driving all the bits in and out.

As a tool, I'm using this one from Knipex: 97 53 14 - it goes from 0.08 to 10mm² (AWG 28 to 7)

You know that tool collection syndrome is a side effect of TEA, right? Now I want one of those, and it is your fault thanks to you!
Knipex never comes cheap, but always so satisfyingly. I've got the Superknips, a large Zangenschlüssel, a set of flatnose VDE pliers, and I think I inherited a 80s Wasserpumpenzange too, but for the ordinary Wasserpumpenzange and the heavy-duty pipe wrench, I prefer Bahco, even if they now are part of Crap-On and are being used to peddle generic rebranded shit much like Stanley.

I use combi pliers, Knipex until they were stolen, then Draper (paid for by work) until I blew them up, now Wiha.
This gives you a nice flat profile, and clearly shows where the wire ends if it's shorter than the ferrule. A colleague has the radial crimps; I don't like them. They look cool though.

Snap-On don't own Bahco, they are both part of a large co-operative that shares costs on raw materials, marketing, shipping etc. Draper do own Knipex though, and DeWalt, Stanley, and a few others are owned by Black and Decker.

The Bahco web site pretty clearly states

Quote
2005 gick Herramientas Eurotools SA och Bahco Group AB, två verktygsföretag som ingick i Snap-on Incorporated sedan 1995 respektive 1999, samman och bildade SNA Europe. ("In 2005, Herramientas Eurotools SA and Bahco Group AB, two tool makers who were part of Snap-on Incorporated since 1995 and 1999, respectively, were fusioned into SNA Europe", my translation.)

I stand by my "owned" description. ;-)

Straw Poll time.

Ferrules or Bare wire into screw terminals in a mix of Low Voltage DC and Mains AC? I have never used the Round ones in the past or really seen a need for them  :-//

Some non E types like them but I take that with a grain of salt as to good or bad. The relevent discussion is aimed at those same types of users with limited skills.

If I click on the pics on the post above I got other pics displayed that not match the little preview...

Anyway I am personally not very happy with this forum infrastucture, I saw better ones nowadays out in the www.

Don't know when Dave will pull the trigger and change the forum engine.

I have a Tek 191 Constant Amplitude Signal Generator. The Cal pot (red knob) does not do anything, can be rotated round and round. Also, no indent for Cal position is present.

I monitored the resistance across the pot and it does not change value as the red knob is rotated.  I cannot see where the disconnect is but I do see a gap and leaf spring at the front of the 1K pot.

Would someone with a 191 have a quick look to see is there is a difference on the working gear.

It appears that the plastic is broken by the pot. As soon as I get a chance I'll open mine and take some pictures for comparison.

Military Comms – Disrupting Adversary Communication

That'll be a quick seminar:

1) Somehow persuade your adversary to put officers/senior management in charge of communications.
2) That is all.

Yours is definitely broken. Apparently some Gorilla tried to turn the pot past the detent with that result. You'll have to disassemble the pot from the switch deck and repair the plastic. I don't know if super glue would work on that type of plastic or perhaps a fast setting epoxy.

I have had excellent results repairing "difficult" plastic projects (e.g. switches and other high stress items) with Devcon 22045...   it smells to high heaven, but it is the best plastic repair material I've ever used.
