Let's hope someone sensible buys it, and not some devious deviant audiophool.

There's no vacuum tubes so the phools are not interested.

I was not necessarily looking for another voltage divider, but this little ESI DP1311 popped up on ebay for 14$. Seller was mentioning some problems with the switch.

I was expecting a burned resistor or something like that, but other than some dust inside it's in really good condition. I cleaned everything with IPA, then used some Deoxit D5 and F5 on the switch contact. It's now good as new! :)

I picked up one of those from a local hamfest for about the same. They are delightful, aren't they. The feel of the switch as it rotates is almost pornographic (I'm sad to say).

Yes I really like ESI equipment, they were well made. Will probably last forever.

Still made, now by IET Labs https://www.ietlabs.com/esi-dp-1211-dp1311-voltage-dividers.html

Would be interesting to compare the one of the new unit to the old one. Apparently IET are cutting on manufacturing cost (and quality?) whenever they can.

Holy Fucking Asscrackers!!! $4400-5600!!!

Jammy git indeed! My last project car cost half that... including TT&L and a "new" 15,000 mile boneyard engine, new Sony stereo, detailing, etc.

Based on available data set of one, marriage is not an effective vaccine.   ;D

And, as I've written here several times, the wife is my best enabler. All y'all in here definitely trail her in fulfilling my TEA desires.  Having written that, I think that "partner influence" at best can be described as non-linear, based on some data points saying "partner retards aquisition", some say "in spite of partner, collection grows", some "without partner, shelves bulge", and finally "partner acknowledges addiction, fueling it".

This week, I bagged a 3Com PC Card NIC, a highest-possible quality RG58 / RG59 crimper (Swedish, Crimpex/Pressmaster DCC 1113), and an electricians hammer from hammer, folding yardstick, and axe manufacturers Hultafors, also Swedish.  All three were under 20€ each, excluding shipping. That is borderline cookie with red jam, IMNSHO.

It looks like you need some "label off". I couldn't live with all those glue patches and half torn off stickers.  :scared:

Yeah that's done and working now. Thanks for help  :-+. That was just debugging a simple IO port device on I2C before I pull in some more complicated ones.

Edit: one question. How do I save the default setup? I assume I save it to an internal slot?

Found it. Unintuitively in the first menu not the To menu. Thanks  :-+.

Was rather annoying as the factory default was channel 2 enabled with 1X set on both channels. I assume that was something Telonic did.

sorry for that, shitload of extremely nasty work, then quick vacation to where the Corona-Cruise ship docked (Hawaiian Islands), from there over to LAX catching the last flight out before they closed the border.

Since the staff at LAX was infected I self-quarantined at arrival and had my CoVid 2019 test which fortunately was negative (for now).

Now I am working overtime, we are in crisis mode in our company and trying to keep our pharma production running and the supply chain working. I think our company might set up a CoVi test lab in the near future, I know that this is under discussion.

It's a major disaster, the whole campus is under quarantine.

Yeah, I knew they were expensive bits of kit; just never bothered to research HOW expensive NOW. No surprise, once you think about it; there's a LOT of engineering-grade skilled labor in any of these products. Just looking at the DekaStat; how many hand-wound precision resistors in that thing, for example...?

I guess the H-ily F-ing A!!! part really is that ANYBODY still offers these services & equipment in the Western hemisphere.  :palm:

A bit offtopic, but on the other hand outstanding in my opinion. Lots of electronics involved though.   ;)
I was surfing youtube when I came across this cover of 'sweet child in time':

I'm relieved now. rock isn't dead when youngsters cover classic rock songs like this.
Sends me shivers down my spine like the original.  :-+

edit: Hell, how do I insert youtube links correctly...?
2nd edit: Ahh, made it    :phew:
3rd edit: corrected some spelling, am relieved now..

So, you are looking for nice drummers, eh?

Okay, somebody mentioned Karen Carpenter.  :-+ Here we go:

next on my list: Meytal Cohen. I do like her cover of Systems Of A Down - Toxcity

Then there is this legendary guy from a legendary show:

And then we have Leo Moracchioli, multi-instrumentalist from Norway:

Hope you'll enjoy the show.

Today I snapped three TEA items, proper photos to follow once I've given them a good wipe over to try to kill CV19 germs etc that might be lurking on them. What did I get I hear you all shout, well I got a Nato issue Avo 8 meter in its leather carry case complete with leads and working, A Advance J2B audio generator, and its working and the third item, a Racal-Dana 9082 RF generator, also working.

Please note the photos here of the Avo and the Advance J2B are not one of the actual items, the Advance shown is a J2C, which is the same as the J2B but has the handles at the front for rack mounting, the Racal is of the actual generator.

I had to do a 200 mile round trip to get these as they were listed as collection only, but I consider that well worth it when I paid just £35 for all of them.

I was also watching a TTi 1906 listed as not switching on and because of my luck with the above items, thought I was on a roll and might win the 1906 as well, alas I had set a limit of £40 on Gixen and it closed £45  :palm:

Also today I received the signal tracer which someone had started to build but sadly ran into bad health and was unable to complete the project before they passed away, so I'll now complete it.

Yeah that's the bit that annoys me too but all our gear defaults that way. Just being able default to set your fav settings is a nice little feature.
