This nixi Digitec meter on ePay.com maybe of interest on here, looks like the case needs a bit of repainting, but it does come complete with the manual & separate circuit diagrams.

Phil's HP probes are on the way to him much cheaper than what that fool on Ebay wanted to jack him on shipping.  :-+

Some sellers are quite happy to ship stuff from the US at a more sensible price when asked, that seller must be trying to put-off foreign buyers.  :--

More likely a case of "cain't be arsed" to ship any means other than eBay global shipping. Honestly, I can't argue; the assache involved is half the reason I don't sell much anymore on fleaBay. :-//

Getting somewhere now. Row drivers done.

Column drivers next (shift registers) then software, GPS module and PCB layout :)

Oh and over-complicated task synchronised double buffer framebuffer implementation  :-DD

Oh, celeriac, yum. That's another thing that was staying on the shelves that's now vanished too and will be causing a lot of "what the fuck do I do with this" moments in households around the country in a week or two.

Celeriac is tossed whole into a well glowing charcoal pile and then dug / tucked in. Left there for like two-four hours, depending on the size of the lump. Then you split it and carve the innards out with a spoon.  Extremely tasty.

A bit offtopic, but on the other hand outstanding in my opinion. Lots of electronics involved though.   ;)
I was surfing youtube when I came across this cover of 'sweet child in time':

I'm relieved now. rock isn't dead when youngsters cover classic rock songs like this.
Sends me shivers down my spine like the original.  :-+

edit: Hell, how do I insert youtube links correctly...?
2nd edit: Ahh, made it    :phew:
3rd edit: corrected some spelling, am relieved now..

Rock will never die.

A decent attempt at it, which by the way is very high praise from me on a subject like this...

Still, nothing compares to Ian Gillan in his pomp with his astonishing dynamic range and control, and the same can be said for Ian Paice imo. Glover and Lord played their part, and the closest thing to a weak link was Blackmore, and that's saying something.
Of course, chemistry is everything so you can't have Deep Purple without any of those 5, just like you can't have Queen without Freddie Mercury.

The two best performances I know of for this track are from 1972s Made In Japan, and
from Nobody's Perfect in 1987.

As far as drums go, imo Ian Paice was (still alive but older even than me) the greatest rock drummer of all time. Sit down Jon Bonham (RIP great heart), sit down Keith Moon (RIP crazy spaceman).
I played this to a drummer friend of mine (ok he's not pro, just a weekend warrior playing Smiths covers etc, #TheMightyFurtles) and it blew his mind. He could not understand how Ian Paice was doing what he was doing

I first saw her a few years ago.  Amazingly talented young lady with great musical tastes.  She's released a few albums now, too - Chi Might and Chi Might II, IIRC.

This one's from four years ago:

Things are gonna get real ugly in these parts.....literally.

Effective Saturday all barbers, nail and hair salons, etc are to close. I pity the men with wives/girlfriends because they are gonna have to listen to a lot of fussing and bitching AND be trapped in the house with them.  :o :-DD

So glad not here.  :phew:

Not a problem. I imagine Amazon has a lot of these:

Good thing I haven't cut my hair in eight or nine months. I can just wrap a section of blue paint tape around it at the appropriate length and cut everything below it with a pair of shears.   ;D

specialization is for insects.

I brought a pair of electric hair trimmers, same as the barbers use and it comes with a series of clip-on plates that will allow a novice to cut hair to a uniform length all over, so if you don't mind having short hair all over, not a problem, paid for itself a hundred times already I reckon, cost just £12 from Lidl and @ around £20 a time for a man's haircut, it sorts out mine and my 2 youngest sons just fine, when we get a hairdressers lock down, we'll be OK, I guess SWMBO will ever have to go short, or grow her hair long again  :-DD

It's only a certain type of older lady that can get away with a No. 3 as a haircut. I would posit that group does not include most British suburban housewives. I would also posit that any attempts to impose such a haircut on sufficient British suburban housewives could cause a spike in the murder rate. Being stabbed to death with a No. 5 knitting needle is not a hero's death.

Dug up a PNP transistor, played around a bit and came to two conclusions:

- I have no idea what I'm doing with this thing
- This thing just works, doesn't it?

It looks like it is vertically inverted, and at least horizontally over sized. It seems like the curve tracing start point is on the upper left corner, when it should be on the lower left corner.
And like med6753 said, it looks a bit tilted.

This is how a curve trace for an NPN BC547B looks like in my Tek2445

Just for comparison: could you do a PNP, e.g. a BC 557 or so?

Thanks

Here is my 575 displaying a 2N5087 PNP and a generic Rat Shack Special 2N2222 NPN.  Both are using the same settings scale-wise, only the origins and polarities have been swapped to accommodate the different parts.  The PNP curves start at the top right of the display and go down and to the left.  The NPN curves start at the bottom left and go up and right.  Mine pretty much 'just works', too - I need to sit and play with it a lot more to learn to use it.

I've never played with one of these so I may be talking completely out of my hat, but to me it looks like there's a retrace there that ought to be blanked.

It looks like it's working correctly, but that the origin is off the screen to the top right and you're seeing the ends of the curve family.  Hold the vertical 'amplifier calibration' switch in the 'check zero' position, and move the position control to put the trace at the tip top of the graticule.  Repeat this with the horizontal calibration switch, but in this case put the trace on the right edge of the graticule.  This should put your origin where it needs to be for PNP devices.  Then, like the vertical attenuators on a scope, adjust the attenuators to get the curve family to fit on the screen.

Cerebus, the retrace you see is normal - it steps, then runs the collector voltage up to max, steps to the next base level and runs it back down.  Lather, rinse, repeat.  It does the curves as sort of a zig-zag - step, voltage ramp up; step, voltage ramp down; step, voltage ramp up; step, voltage ramp down...  Newer ones may blank on the step, but this old beast does not.

I can only assume a middle aged man in unexceptional condition attempting to lick himself down range is a spectacle to behold.
