L2 router could use packet inspection and discard that fairly easily. I’m sold.

I think we should actually have a “div” (local term for dumbass, idiot, imbecile) bit which just discards the packers at the router in their house however. It’d save a lot of energy.

Why can't we have nice things? Now a thread about certifications is turned into a patriotic US Chinese shitfest between usual suspects. I want to talk about certifications damn it.

Location of the asshattery?

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/projects/bring-a-product-to-market-without-certification/

Ah yes, one particular individual has an ego so big he can't fit his head through a door and he doesn't like to have it bruised either.  :palm:

Are we talking about the little tit who had two sock-puppet accounts deleted yesterday? From that poster's rapid move from 'joined on 24th Feb' to posting an average 12 messages a day ever since, I suspect they are someone who's been kicked off before and so far has managed to disguise their links to their former account. Somehow I doubt they are in Puerto Rica as they claim, but it's amusingly apposite that they picked a 'country' that's essentially a US puppet state with no power of its own - I doubt however that they have the wit of wisdom to have made that choice deliberately. Alternatively, it's someone who is still on here and has created sock-puppet accounts with the express purpose of picking a fight with blueskull in an attempt to get get blueskull permanently banned.

Edited to add: I think from here on in the poster in question should get the sobriquet 'tit-puppet'.

I can see that working but we'd need physical firewalls at the borders too. Not just lame border walls but flame throwers and laser grids. Otherwise the echo chamber starts building a resonation until the chamber burst violently and neighbouring countries start being invaded.

Yeah, I can see the sense in that.  >:D

They're all as bad as each other as far as I'm concerned.

People ever more frequently these days seem unable to have a civilised argument.

I've had insults thrown at me, unprovoked, by one of the protagonists referred to here.

It's done and reinstalled on the scope. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. Secure handles but it doesn't really make it much easier to jack ass around.  :o :-DD

Nice! One suggestion: burnish the edges of your leather with a small amount of gum tragacanth and a wood slicking tool.

This guy demonstrates several burnishing techniques:

A little scrap of leather works as well, sometimes better, than a specific burnishing tool. Also, the principal thing when burnishing is 'wet' and friction/pressure so the leather fibres compact together, so if you haven't any gum tragacanth solution around just water will do or, if you're not fussy, spit. If you're going to dye the edges, that comes first before burnishing.

I stay out of those threads now. At least it’s not Reddit where I got a load of death threats for suggesting that a whole ideology was backwards ironically asserting my statement perfectly.

As I recall it's approx 1.2ns/ft delay.

At least that's what my still asleep and coffee derived memory is telling me.  ;D

Nope, it wasn't via calculations and theory. It was observable on a scope.

You seem to be confusing the difference between the speed of the current with the speed of the electrons. Your scope will show you how fast the current flowed, but the electrons were heading in the opposite direction at a snails pace.

Your dull German electrons might be, but here in Blighty they do the highly energetic Maxwell Waltz while the copper atoms do the rather more sedate Baryon Boogie.  :)

I don't care if it was electrons, quarks, or flying wombats. I saw what I saw and I measured it.  :P

I'm actually Irish, I just live in Germany. Irish electrons tend to stagger on a semi-sinewave path, especially if it's 2 in the morning on a saturday.

K237 felt lonely, now family brought together and everyone is happy  :-DMM
- Except my wallet :-DD

K236 & K238 were described as dead, K238 was falsely advertised as K236.

Long story short: it seems I had much luck with this purchase  :phew:
Just needed to replace both blown fuses and after thorough inspection, they turned out just fine  :-//
Quick check of the ranges revealed no surprises, maybe it just needs cal on a couple of ranges.

Well, even better. The mean free path of an electron in an electron cloud in a conductor can be described by what is known to mathematicians as a drunkard's walk.

I can see that working but we'd need physical firewalls at the borders too. Not just lame border walls but flame throwers and laser grids. Otherwise the echo chamber starts building a resonation until the chamber burst violently and neighbouring countries start being invaded.

We had here such physical firewalls. No fun at all, I can assure you.

I employed a lady from the Eastern side of that firewall. The general response was 'it was shit' when asked.

My 4am and 5am Possums however need a firewall or maybe just a Tautech firing Squad  :palm: To try and snooze for a few hours before discord chatting or just get up  ....  :=\

Hmm, thats interesting, the IWF must have watched them first to determine if the subject is child pornography, so I wonder if they also inform the Police of themselves as well, I mean it's right and proper if they are to whistle blow on others that they do it themselves as well  >:D :-DD :-DD

EDIT:
I'm with Virgin Media and my son often uses Torrents and never have we had any shitograms, maybe you should switch?

You do get them on VM. Depends on the torrents you're downloading. They get a list of peers / clients from the torrent by IP address and then send a letter to the ISP who send an email to you telling you to stop. Rick and Morty was the last one  :-DD

As for the IWF they're a bunch of cunts. Spawned from the depths of hell (Demon Internet) who were the WORST ISP on the planet for a long time and this piece of shit for a human: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Stephens_(solicitor)

So the local surplus joint actually had two 3440A/3444 plugin combos. I snagged the other one today to save it from the proprietor deciding to part it out and sell the nixies. It appears that, unlike the other one, it will likely just need a good burn in, adjustment, and exterior cleanup. The nixies are clearly in better shape too, no signs of cathode poisoning.

I’m glad I only have to worry about milliseconds at work  :-DD

Typical TCP guy ;-)

I'm spending lots of time watching making and watching graphs of PTP clock offset. I have things that break when the offset goes above 1µs.

This Wednesday, I'm going to get a demo of a Very Attractive Piece Of TE, an Anritsu machine that does both OTDR, Ethernet speed tests to 100G, and PTP judgement including comparing two clocks both to each other and a GPS /OXCO reference. Getting the budget will be a challenge. But I need it. You people will understand.
