As I said before... the design criteria for most Briggs-powered mowers nowadays is to be a 10-year BIC lighter tool; use it up & throw it away. But if not abused, most will make it that long with nothing more than keeping a clean air filter on it and not running it dry of oil.

Yep, in another life I fixed B&S too and they're pretty simple to get longevity from. Despite their design faults just keeping the filter and oil clean was the secret of their success.

It's quite amazing how a chrome piston running a high silica alloy block can last as long as they do.

Buy in bulk and save  :-DD eBay auction: #332666025894 Interesting seems the 1L stocks on evilbay are currently zero but it is the real 100% deal as is the same brand of acetone if you use any. I could do with another L but not sure I need 4.

good to hear

I assume somebody brought the availability of the Tek 24x5 Siemens fan motors to the threads attention?

My use of acetone is rather minimal.  I still have 200ml left in a 500ml tin - and it's been like that for the best part of a year, if not longer.

My (as in I source it, pay for it and transport it) IPA gets commandeered for any use around the house where it might be beneficial ... I've even been known to use some for cleaning the things for which I actually purchased the stuff.

Anyway, I had been looking at buying more.  The price for a small quantity is just painful, so I was having the same argument about how big to go.  It was either 2L from Altronics (who, from what I've been able to find, don't actually say what purity it is they sell) or 5L 100% from evilbay.

Decisions, decisions.

Could methylated spirits substitute IPA ?
Or racing methanol ?

I brought some 'pure' IPA from a Chemist a while ago. Turned out to be 70% and I asked them to check at the time :horse: If you do a search for Artists choice Alcohol you might get a local hit without the shipping but that evilbay seller is who I used last 1L lot.

PM me if you want it. It's only listed for UK sellers at the moment. It's the whole assembly for 465 at the moment but the motor is the same.

I've bought it on 4th of Feb., shipping started on 15th of Feb. The parcel was a little quenched but dry. I'm confident, that there was no Corona at all.
Congrats that you've finally received your connectors  :-+  :)

Forgotten what I ordered them for now though  :-DD

Edit: Current project is this tube of IRFZ24N's and a big heatsink I found cleaning out the cupboard. Decided that while ham radio is boring, building big RF amplifiers is fun (mainly because it's quite dangerous) so going to see if I can get 100W out of 4 of those buggers and a switcher I had lying around without blowing them to shreds :)
