Well I voted for Brexit, and I'm neither stupid, nor a racist bigot, nor do I hate anyone.
I wanted to leave for much the same reasons as Jeremy Corbyn did.
I've heard a lot of debate on the subject over the last 4 years or so, and I have to say that most of it (on both sides) is ill informed bollocks.
I'd add that it would probably have been beneficial to have a proper national discussion on the issue before any talk of a referendum; that just reduced the whole thing to a series of sound-bites and slogans like the arrant nonsense emblazoned on the "Boris Bus", "taking back our sovereignty", "EU outlaws straight bananas/full English breakfasts/other red-top headline fodder", "we'll lose all our human rights", "the NHS will collapse because no immigrants will be able to come here", "the EU is responsible for bringing peace to Europe" and other such drivel.
It's sad that (most) people (seem to) believe and endlessly regurgitate this propaganda instead of going to the trouble of doing a little research and discovering some actual facts.
Saddest of all is I personally know a few lifetime Labour voters that voted Tory because of this. I voted Labour; I couldn't have looked in the mirror otherwise, and I think it's more important to try and protect what's left of our public services like the NHS etc. than pushing Brexit through in the half-assed manner it was happening. Oh well...
