Funny you should ask. Since Tuesday I've been sick with a nasty cold that settled in my chest resulting in lots of coughing. No fever, just a cough and stuffy head. Been taking appropriate medication and it's helping but still not 100%. This is the first time in over 10 years that I've had anything resembling a cold or flu. It sucks and I want to get over it. The lady cop was supposed to come up today for the weekend but I'm cancelling that.

So I haven't been working on the 535A. I need to get it up on the kitchen counter so I can flip it on it's side and remove the bottom plate and clean it. But with all this coughing my belly muscles are sore so that's all I need to do is try to lift 65 pounds of dead weight. Once the bottom is cleaned I'll attempt the first power up.

Maybe today, but I doubt it. Perhaps tomorrow.  :-//

As it is I barely have enough room for the 535A. If I got a 556 I'd have to move.  :-DD

Oh dear, sorry to hear that.
Does the appropriate medication come in a 40oz bottle ? If not maybe you've been taking the wrong stuff !
You know, for medicinal purposes only, right.  ;)

Probably you just need my wifes motivational remedy....she starts polishing a bullet !  :scared:
Luckily the guns are all in MY cabinet !  :phew:

Anyways it's best the glowing Tek waits until you're back on your game.  :)

WHAT THE  :wtf: FUCK are you wing-dingles all talking about...? It sounds like some narcotic snuff or essential-oil-infused personal lubricant, or maybe a particularly noxious venereal disease of some sort... :scared:

mnem
smeg.
Skegness is a traditional seaside holiday town, that hasn't adapted to cheap flights to Spain. Think of a US town pop. 20k, in the middle of a prarie, surrounded by trailer parks, only occupied in summer and by the lomg term unemployed. Coney island writ small. Google streetview shows it in all its glory. It is bracing (the best that can be said about it) because easterly winds come straight fom Moscow.

The first poster was one of many produced by train companies, and fondly remembered. https://railwayposters.co.uk/

Thank you! I was really beginning to think it was some Brit counterculture pop reference that we 'merkins just "dinnae git the memo", or some rhyming slang or summat...  |O

Okay, in a pinch you can substitute two girls for the boy, as long as they're small...

Happy New Year (to all those using the Gregorian calendar)!

Yay, my 4x BNC test leads for the LCR meter arrived, time to play   :-DMM

Warning: pic heavy post   ;)

10 ohm 10% 5W ww resistor, with the Fluke 8840 using 4-wire for comparison (the Fluke hadn't warmed up and still has a 10 milliohm offset):

30M 7.5 kV 20% resistor out of an old tv, all my other meters that can read this high broadly agree:

This is the 6800uF cap I pulled out of the 8840, guessing these readings indicate eroded dielectric?

A 91 puff NPO:

2200 puff 5%:

And finally, since I can't find any known value inductors   :-X  a Minimus 11 speaker:

I think that the 1740A was seen whispering in its ear just moments before you arrived  :-DD :-DD

In other news, my Rapid delivery arrived and now my 320 has it's smile back again, no wonder their delivery charge was so dammed high, they put those knob caps into a jiffy bag that 26 x 24cms, could have got the Titanic in there as well  :-DD :-DD

At least they didn’t put it in a box like CPC would. And then forget to put the parts in it. CPC are best at shipping air  :-DD

Right. Offline entirely from the human race until tomorrow at around 12:00. Unless you’re on GB3CG repeater :)
