I'd be willing to participate (audio only, no video) if someone were to host it. I figure sometime after the beginning of the year. The only hassle is we are scattered across the globe so some of us who have to be up in the middle of the night to participate.

(audio only, no video)
and no disturbing noises.

... add yourself if you want to partecipate

- SW
Skype good for everyone? I still have my concerns about skype... again M$ got it and it went down the drain. Unfortunately I do not have any alternative at the moment.
It would be nice to have a shared blackboard to write up shit and share, but if we are producing a podcast then we should strict to audio only
- Duration
1 hour talk just to start and see how it goes?
- Max. partecipant
Max. partecipant numbers 5-10?

In the first episode we need bitseeker and the founders of this TEA club, my opinion.

I would love to participate but:

I'm not a english native speaker, so I will for sure not be a correct english;
My timezone also don't help into getting okay with others (GMT+8)

I suggest Discord group call instead of Skype, the audio codec technology they use makes a lot better call audio in the end.

For sure. I don't see any Tek's in that pile but the ones on the far right are HP 180's.

That's OK....because a lot of us who claim we speak English......don't.  :-DD

The Ender 3 is earning his keep. I printed a back panel for my Agilent 34401a. The original one exploded in 1001 pieces when I tried to remove the back boot.

Fit perfectly!

That really does look very good. Are you also going to printing something to attach in the corners as bumpers / feet?

Fucks sake. Shitty packaging strikes. Chucked in a totally inadequate box loose with polystyrene chips. It's a fucking 8kg power supply FGS.

 :palm: :palm: :palm:

Edit: so case bent and the line switch has had it.

 :palm:

That seller should be closed in a wood box and ship it over the ocean to madagascar without any water.

Now sad news from my side, an old 2014 kickstarter 3d printer popped out from my basement:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1784037324/bi-v20-a-self-replicating-high-precision-3d-printe

sell it and get a new one? Or better to follow the rabbit hole trying to get it up and running?

I am sad because I feel like it is a cheap, low quality big 3d printer. WASTED.

My spider senses are telling me to not touch this thing and let it go on Ebay.

Yes, I am so stupid I bought it in 2014 and left in the basement until now.

I'd give it a go, just because you have it, but 3D printers have come a long way in the last years and the quality of the parts you get have greatly improved. So if you intend doing any seriously printing, you'll probably have to head down that rabbit hole.

see if I read this:
http://bootsindustries.com/improvements-between-bi-v2-0-and-v2-5/
I crap in my pants immediately,  I have the V2.0 .

Knowing myself, if I start to thinkering with it I will see tons of problems and my angel on the right shoulder tells me to fix/improve everything.
Damm I always listen to that angel.

That was easy. Just opened a claim against that power supply in eBay and they refunded the full amount  :-+

I suspect they can't be arsed to deal with it plus it's now a liability if it's bust.

Suppose I better evaluate the damage further now  :scared:

So then, if you got the full price refunded, (jammy git) you could rework the bent case, replace the plug and the power switch and then hopefully you'll a bloody decent power supply for almost fuck all, how jammy can you get? By the way that binding post also looks damaged to me.

There was another 2A one on the bay for £92 or best offer, I gave 3 offers, all declined and also a single 1A one that I have my eye on so I can at least replace my SMPS based one and then I'll have to quiet linear supplies at my disposal.

Yep full whack refunded. No questions asked!

I'm putting a new plug on it now. The switch lever is damaged but there is contact continuity so I can do an initial check out and make sure there are no other issues first before I invest in a new switch. Earth binding post is slightly bent but I'm going to leave that as it'll probably snap if I bend it back.

Jeyaay...sus! If you were to try to deliberately do that to a moulded plug you'd be at it for 10 minutes, sweating and panting from the effort. The amount of moronically bad handling required to to do that is quite stupendous, even with the evidently crap packaging job.

Let me guess. Herpes?

Indeed. The packaging was just total shit though. Literally half filled box of blue polystyrene chips with it chucked in.

"DPD Local" was the delivery company.

Edit: new plug on. Tape applied to switch. Seems to work ok!

Good packing for shipment isn't obvious to many people, I don't know why. They don't seem to be able to form a picture in their minds of what the item might experience during handling. I guess they think the boxes are gently placed on trucks or conveyor belts as they are moved here and there.

I pack things taking into account what they weigh for the forces inside the box, and also what they may experience from forces outside the box, such as delivery people who are keen to get the day over and head out to happy hour, or imagine that your box is their recent girlfriend that broke up with them.  :P
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.
