After months of enjoyable and satisfying work I have come to this point:
All 11 pieces of Tek equipment (9 scopes, 2 generators) are functional and calibrated as best I can.
All 3 non-Tek scopes are functional and calibrated.
All 5 frequency counters functional and calibrated.
All 10 DMM's functional and calibrated.
All my other assorted equipment has no issues.
The only stinker in the bunch (and not included in the above totals) is the 485 with the unfixable trigger issue. It's sitting in the closet either awaiting a trigger board from a parts unit or it's a potential sacrifice if the other 485 goes boom. I've been cruising Ebay for a parts unit but so far no joy. The parts surplus place in NJ that I've done biz with several times has 3. Two don't power up and one does. All have busted knobs. But they want $150 USD each for them. Way too much. At $75 USD I might bite. If they are still for sale after Xmas I might throw them a low ball offer.
So want to lay bets on what is gonna release magic smoke first? Currently just have a few minor projects to complete but nothing major. Hopefully this coming week the Hakko FM-203 shows up. Will definitely be a cool toy and I'll certainly do a tear down show and tell.
