I've been for years to buy one TTI, for years... And you have how many?  :scared:

I got 4 PSU in the last month and sold almost all the others (I still have an HP 6xxx 20V 10A to sell, coming soon...), here my aim tti family:

QPX1200SP big daddy 750€
QL355 the wife can cook everything 210€
EL183R silent little baby 100€
PL303 the teenager 216€

FUUU over 1K€, and now the LD400P .... scary...

What surprise me I did not even use my mafia channels (well... the QPX1200SP came from Serbia in a truck's friend of friends...  everything arranged in whatsapp and I paid cash in an private apartment.... was a high risk move...only italians can do that), everything was in evil bay or the local german ebay.

Pictures are coming soon.

Also big big plus the schematics are available somehow, I think if you ask they send them to you.

I think doing that to our Aussie peso is illegal - but it does look pretty like Spock👍
Re coffee - I use one of those coffee machines that grind it and do everything while you wait, the original Saecos were good but the quality is declining. They are also seriously fast - quicker than boiling a kettle - and until my middle daughter gets a coffee into her in the morning - she is a menace to mankind!
Whoah! Watch where that landed we might need it later.

If I'm not mistaken, we do have TTi employee or ex. in this forum, but I don't know, as last time the person who tipped me won't tell who.  :-//

Me too post. Old faithful. Charger of batteries, powerer of radios, abused by terrible loads constructed by an idiot, but flawless:

I need a PL330 to go with it as well. Need something that kicks out 28V @ 3A and doesn't have a lot of RF hash like the meanwell block I'm using.

The above PL154 is a member of the "peak" design of these power supplies i.e. it was post-sinclair/brown ones from hell and pre-digital minification fanned white ones

That was one of the least shit Dr Who's that was. I'm not saying best because that might suggest it is in line with the likes of Firefly or The Expanse which would be unfair.

Does anyone know of an independent source of 4mm terminals like those on the TTi? That is, ones that take both shrouded and unshrouded 4mm connectors and have the standard screw down terminal that will take a spade connector?

The nearest thing I've been able to find are these from Multicontact:

which only accept bare wires poked through a hole in the side.

Doubleplus brownie points if you can find ones made of a low thermal EMF alloy.

Even if you don't have a source at the moment, I'd be eternally grateful if you'd mentally file away a standing request from me for details on anything you might trip over that fits the bill.

If anyone has an idea where one could still get a wall wart with output of +/-15...18V (regulated), please let me know.

I've found this one, sadly, it is discontinued:

This is an interesting unit:

electronic load from RND, 300W, 0 - 30A, 0 - 120V, comes with LAN, USB and RS232

Available e.g. at Reichelt for 390.- Euro incl. VAT.

Are 310€ for an Agilent E5810A too much?

TEA TEA TEA

In my book, yes, but I'm a cheapskate.

I doubt that you'll find a much better price on the open market. However, they're still grossly overpriced versus what they actually do. FFS, my 34461A which will plug into the LAN and process SCPI commands only set me back ~ £230 more and that adds the trivial functions of a 61/2 multimeter to the LAN connectivity.

Interesting linguistic thing going on there too. An Englishman would have said "Is 310€ for" rather than "Are 310€ for", yet using the plural "are" to agree in number with the (implied) plural "euros" is more technically correct even though it is not "English as she is spoke"(sic).

Guess, this rules out these:

If it's any good (don't personally know the brand, or the detailed specs) that's a very fair price for a DC load in that load rating.

'Fraid so. It's the standard 4mm binding post that 'also accepts shrouded connectors' bit that's proven to be the problem. I've been looking for ages and had half given up. The TTi reminded me and I thought I'd tap the collected wisdom to see if anyone else knew of anything that might suit.

Edited to add: The low thermal EMF aspect would be a bonus, and extend what I could use them for. The basic functionality is the most important point.

I thought I'd investigate further.

Looks like this gets "badge engineered" a lot. Went for a hunt for the specs and found this review on here of a "Korad" badged version of the same: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/review-of-the-korad-kel103-programmable-load/

Edited to add: Farnell sell a 'Tenma" branded version of this here: £221 + VAT. (comes out at 331€ incl. VAT)

Sorry I lived in USA 3,5 years... never had the chance to refine my Tuvuoifalammericano in the United Kingdom.
That said, I came across some people from Glasgow once, in the entire talk I had this in my mind:

That said, I came across some people from Glasgow once, in the entire talk I had this in my mind:

No need to apologise, it was just an observation not a criticism. As I said, you were technically more correct than the standard English way of saying it, which just goes to show how infuriating English must be to learn systematically as a foreign language. You'd get taught all the (supposedly regular) rules, and then you have to be taught all the exceptions to those rules.

If anybody needs to apologise it's me - for the butchering I give to the German and French languages every time I try using them. I haven't butchered Italian yet, but me and SWMBO are thinking of perhaps going on an eating holiday of Italy in the future, so there's still a good chance that I'm going to owe you and your countrymen an apology for what I will have done to your language.  :)

As to the Scots. People from Edinburgh speak the clearest English in existence: ev-er-y syl-a-ble is clearly and distinctly pronounced, yet a few tens of miles away in the Gorbals district of Glasgow the least comprehensible variant of English pronunciation can be found. I suspect that people from Milngavie (a northern suburb of Glasgow, with a Gallic name pronounced mul-guy) need to take a translator with them if they travel the 5 odd miles to the Gorbals.

Guys I need a DC Load at least like a TTi LD400P, any suggestions? It would be cool if <1500€.

TME has 5 units for ca. 1335.- Euro incl. VAT excluding shipping

Got mine right now from distrelectric.de, with a 15% discount (how? I just ask the hotline  :-+) 1346,31€ total. TME without shipping was at 1342,56 €  :-DD
Until 2020 I officially stop the TEA purchases.

Having to call someone in Germany (from Canada) to order some connectors is not necessarily my definition of easy. On top of that my German is pretty rusty  :P

"Easy" would be readily available at digikey, mouser or arrow. Unfortunatly it's not the case  :-\

There is an office in Toronto:

https://www.fischerconnectors.com/global/en/locations/ontario

Well ok … I need to improve my google foo  :P

Will check with them if they can supply the part. Thanks!

I'll bet they will supply 10 of them. Post your findings.

As I wrote...
"The connectors are easy to find. The problem is the cost and especially the minimum order quantity :( FFI see https://www.eevblog.com/forum/buysellwanted/group-buy-fischer-connector-plug-s104-a053-130/msg1538426/#msg1538426 "

They forwarded me to a distributer in Texas www.keiconn.com/ :(

Need to check with them now.
