So in the lot I got in Vermont sometimes ago, I had a box full of power transistors. Mostly, TI SP7388B and S 42SE236. Pretty cool but I can't find any info on those parts. It's like they never existed. I tried looking them on some sites (alltransistors.com, etc ..) but found nothing.

Anybody know what they are and where I could find the specs ?

Can't place that 'S' right now - Siliconix? Sprague? Semitron? Semicoa? Semtech?

No idea. It's the first time I'm seeing that logo (Big S with black background)

The Type 114 is done. All cleaned up, cabinet repainted, switches deoxit'ed. Now going through a mandatory burn-in of several hours.

Too shiny! *crosses arms with a scowl* Harrumph!

Whaddayouget when you cross arms with a scowl...?

How about if I drop my shorts and moon you. Is that too shiny too??  ;D

Slowly getting through the hamfest stuff. P6042 current probe is gonna need the have a few inches hacked off the probe cable due to a broken conductor for the Hall sensor.  :palm:

Ok, can you give a category? Si or Ge? polarity? can we exclude everything else, like Darlingtons, MosFets, SCRs and Regulators?

Was there a recent albedo measurement for the referred surface?

Seen that too on P6021 current probes.
Right PITA when you have to chop off the nice Tek BNC connectors.  :(

The P6042 fortunately has a permanently attached probe, so you don't have to hack off a connector but you are in for some very fiddly soldering.  :scared:

I can almost guarantee and be willing to bet a paycheck they are "in house" part numbers and came from the old IBM Burlington, Vermont plant.

Edit....betcha they were used in early switch mode power supplies. Used similar TO-3 devices at the IBM Poughkeepsie, NY plant back in the 1970's.

Siemens, Sanyo, ST (or rather SGS) were out of the selection because of that 'S'. Of some others I know the logos and some are obscure. I just wanted to see how far he was.
With 'SIT' you meant STI, I presume. And there is Sussex Semiconductor.

@bd139 Here you go, battery for the HP3466A, £8.90 free postage from this seller on eBay

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2V-6V-12V-Sealed-Lead-Acid-Battery-All-Sizes-and-capacities-1Ah-to-34Ah-SLA/231568304738?hash=item35ea8bea62:m:m-Vahu7Yq1Jyiq3rtpjng_w

Select 6V 2.8Ah in the drop box and that is the battery you need, A single wrap with small bubble wrap and the terminals insulated and leads lengthened, job done  :-+

Edit, that is the very same battery as I have fitted into mine and it works a treat.

About the Tek P6042 probe cable - mine had breaks at both ends.  I was lucky in that nothing in the probe was bad or broken.  I suppose that's good for something 50 years old.  Anyone know when Tek stopped making them?  Does anyone know if the coax part of the bundle has any special characteristics?

I seem to remember reading on the TekScopes list that someone had success using a certain kind of HDMI cable as a replacement.

Ts ts ts you guys have way too much time.  ;D
Instead of writing here and showing RPN stuff and talking about 3D printing, I did some soldering.  :-/O

I've finished my little switch for my JBC HD-2D station, so now I can switch between T245 and T470 soldering irons.

It works!  :-+

50W resistors (3.3 Ohm and 2.7 Ohm in series for the T245):

A little salut to our beloved bd139  ;D

And, today two beauties showed up on my doorstep:
