Burp  :) Should be out burning off some of last nights Cow but clearing up a few jobs on the bench.

Not strictly TEA and apart from nearly falling for the Japanese center negative trap  :horse: new NiMh pack of batteries made and fitted into the planimeter and tested. Lovely mechanics and works great to sell or keep for maybe 1-2 times a year use is now the question. Need more practice at moving the head smoothly but accuracy is good.

Back to the Fusion for the rest of the day.

And here it is, done. The 8010A is only one left to do but ran low on paint.

Someone in the near future is going to wonder what butcher did this to all that nice original TE.

My 3466A is apparently turning up today. Not sure I’m going to get the time to look at it though. Literally have measured one inductor with the LCR45 so far. Boo hiss.

That's how these kinds of things happen indeed as people who care won't engage in such acts.  :box:  I guess it's a new motive to buy up all the TE. To prevent some vandal painting all over it.  ;D How about PRETTY? Paint Related Evacuation To Thwart Yuckiness

Well be sure to hang around as I "vandalize" and "butcher" a 8010A and completely destroy the faded and UV damaged case that apparently you might find attractive and desirable. In addition....when the Type 114 shows up with it's scuffed and damaged case I'll be destroying that "patina" too.

Perhaps you better dust off your credit card and save the TE from the likes of me.  :-//

Bugger. My Tek 2465 fan collet disintegrated.

Decided on a two-fold approach:
  • mutilate an existing metal collet that looks like it is intended to attach a model RC plane engine to a propellor
  • make a 3D print
Now, will cheap SLA be OK (DirtyPcbs £4 for 4, delivered!), or will I need more expensive nylon or steel/aluminium?

A TE post for once. 3466A turned up. Doesn't appear to work properly! Looks like there's something up with the power supply. It has battery option which is as dead as a dodo and the power supply is sick.

This is great. I fancied debugging something :D  :-DD

Edit: battery option removed and jumped. On mains I have discovered -2.6V rail at -1V and -7V rail at -2.6V. Further investigation taking place shortly.

Did it just break in half or completely disintegrate? If just broken in half epoxy it back together. I fixed mine via that method and works fine.  :-+

All of the collet's "fingers" snapped off where they cease to be fingers, i.e. at the bottom of the slot. I suspect that is where much of the force is concentrated when the collet is pulled into its sleeve, so I'm unconvinced repair would last.

Since they are brittle anyway, might as well try to replace it.
