All things are relative.

i made a calibrator unit for  350.000 scovilles.

(Attachment Link)

Yikes I spend a couple of days away from the forum and when I logged in this morning I find 9 whole pages waiting for me so I'll have tp speed read them and catch up.

As to the matter of a calibrator unit for 350.000 scovilles, then it springs to my mind that only a dragon could attest to its accuracy  :-DD :-DD

Martin isn't the only one here with a taste for capsaicin!  I regularly use ghost pepper salsa on all things Mexican style and am awaiting some samples of Reaper Sauce from a friend.  Anyone else here have an affection for things that burn you from both ends??

ok.....seriously guys.....talk me off the ledge.

it weighs 64 lbs!  more even than the 141t that went out the door years ago because it was too bulky and too heavy.

(BUT it is easily within local pick up range.)

somebody tell me it is useless and prone to spontaneous combustion.

If that was in Sydney, there wouldn't be any conversation .. there would be a rush of bodies taking a flying leap to be the first to nab it.

When engineers collide.  :-DD :-DD :-DD

That looked like a low speed impact to me  :-DD

Edit.

This is a high speed crash of a train into a nuclear flask.

I'm not helping am I?

no you are not helping.

you were supposed to tell me to run like the wind before my vertebrae get crushed.

You save $156 USD in shipping costs. Go get ASAP and get a friend to help you.  :-DD

Let's see....

The Tek Type 114 was in New Mexico yesterday and this morning scanned in Missouri. Supposed delivery October 2nd. Yep, pony express is faster than FedEx ground.  |O

The Tunnel Diode went from NYC right past me to the Albany distribution center then will head BACK south to my PO. And they wonder why USPS loses money.  :o At any rate I should have it tomorrow.

My parts from Mouser seem to have dropped into a black hole at UPS.  :-//

That fast?

Letters from my main pension company 150 miles away take over a week to arrive. Google maps indicates it would only take 40 hours to walk that distance. :(

Letters from the Inland Revenue arrive a week after they are sent, and include a statement that "you have 14 days from the date on this letter to respond" :(
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.
Glider pilot's aphorism: "there is no substitute for span". Retort: "There is a substitute: skill+imagination. But you can buy span".

If only I didn't have this hearty dislike for all things with the name GRUNDIG on it ... ;)

the question of the day:

who was the manufacturer of this Grundig UZ144?   :-//
it`s a OEM from the FEG2 (Rohde&Schwarz, München)

All the knobs appear to be there, and (other than what looks like a missing center cap on the center 'reference level' fine adjust knob) look to be intact - a rarity on those.  Go for it!!  Even better if you cna pick it up locally - saves shipping $$, and less chance for damage enroute!  (I'm waiting for an 8566B that's allegedly out for delivery, shipping set me back about a c note.)

You know you want it!!!   >:D >:D >:D >:D

Since all my projects are held up due to parts in limbo land the Fluke 8050A is getting the treatment. Reveal later today.

I made a little film about "Universalzähler", the most sexy machines ever made.
We have used them in Hannover at the Makerfaire Event.

my R+S FER  and a HP with gas bulbs counting, owned by my friend Matt.  :)

wait a moment I have to upload the MP4.

Very cool, Martin - this is the first time I've seen a 521C in a rack mount. That R&S is amazing, too - I seem to recall you posting pics of that when you got it.  Great stuff!!

It looks great however, fire extinguishers aren't very expensive, and back injuries will heal.
