I simply refuse to let my brain be misused as a stack for intermediate results. Only perverts enjoy this.
I'll just repost this picture of mine in support of the RPN side...
after all...... we tolerate tek-fever and fluke madness in others. why not rpn insanity?
Why not "1+2*3=" 7 or 9 insanity?
There's a key difference here. Even though I like RPN calculators, those here that think us RPN supporters are nuts have a perfectly valid opinion. It's just a matter of preferences. Use what you understand and what works for you.
Mathematics doesn't work that way. "1+2*3=9" is just wrong.
Algebraic is like smoking. Next thing you know you've got a black lung and your 7's are all 9's.
Still better than mathing like Yoda.

Oh, I know that.
Unfortunately too many people think the answer depends on "context".
... same as an uncleared stack full of intermediate results ...
No... It's just that some of us realize there's a reason we have these: ( ) ![Laughing :-DD](https://www.eevblog.com/forum/Smileys/default/smiley_laughing.gif)

Yes, to change the order of evaluation from the standard defined by the commutative, associative and distributive properties of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations.

Yes, to change the order of evaluation from the agreed-upon standard defined by the commutative, associative and distributive properties of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations.
FFI, see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arithmetic
I disagree. See, I thought they existed so that people like me could mess with people like you.

Or the problem encountered by a simultaneous translator when the source is an especially verbose German professor. The translator has to stay silent, until eventually they are forced to exclaim "Professor, the verb,
please!".
For those that didn't learn a little German at school, in German the verb is at the end of the sentence, not between the subject and object. Yes, German is RPN
Effing Amazon...
Yesterday I was at the store, so I decided to get new batteries for the Smoke Defectors in the house. I TRIED TO buy them in the store, but I just COULD NOT MAKE MYSELF pay $11 plus tax for two effing 9V alkaline batteries. Get home, look online, Amazon has an 8-pack of 9V alkalines in their store brand for $9.99 which were just delivered, 16 hours later.
And they wonder why nobody wants to buy ANYTHING in person anymore...

Very convincing. The transcendental logarithm probably won the war for RPN.

The natural logarithm girls had black hair.
Ugh just spent an hour debugging squegging audio amplifier. The first attempt went up in smoke literally, the second one wasn't temperature stable, this one squegged like a bitch. Phase shift at around 20MHz for it appears to be 360 degrees ffs. Have hacked it by slowing the transistors down with a little bit of miller capacitance although that makes me slightly sad inside.

Maybe some damping network at the output, a few ferrite beads and a lowpass at the input ...
