A great melody. A real war tune.
https://youtu.be/vTkGNcntD7s
've heard them liltin'
At the ewe milkin'
And I've heard them liltin'
Before light a-day
Now they are mournin'
For all time a-liltin'
The flowers of the forest
Are all a' wede away
Sad they for the order
That sent them to the border
The English by guile
For once won the day
Now they are mournin'
For all time a-lilting
The flowers of the forest
Are all a' wede away
Is it me or what, but I can't detect these words anywhere in the song as she sang it?

Thinking about hitting this. https://probemaster.com/design-your-own-probe-kit/

Anyone got any probemaster probes to review?

Simon, one of the moderators here of the EEVBlog forum is selling them, maybe he can tell you a bit more.

I have bought some Probemaste for my 121GW meter. I do like them really well, their handling is good,
gives you a good control on what you are doing and they are sharp as a needle. The gold plating looks also
very well made.

Closer look:

I have bought them at Welectron, they ship EU-wide: https://www.welectron.com/
(no affilitation besides a happy customer)

I have bought these:
https://www.welectron.com/Probe-Master-Silicone-Test-Leads-Series-8000

And, reminding about our discussion about passive scope probes:
They have some from Siglent for about 8.30 Euros  ;D

SCNR  :-DD

Good luck with the 34401A. I have one by myself, really good meters and workhorses.  :-+

Some good stuff on this thread this week  :-+

Getting fired up to refurb the 6286A metering circuit this morning ... heathy (hahaha) breakfast first

(Attachment Link)

Seems like an appropriately sized breakfast for an average adult. But fried tomatoes and beans for breakfast? That's different.  :P Over here in the land of the fat asses and home of the beer bellies that amount of food would be on the children's menu.  :palm:

Yeah that doesn’t surprise me. Beans and tomatoes because choice. There was a fried bread option but that goes through me in 8 seconds. On top of this I just went on a walk for 4 miles to burn of some calories afterwards  :-DD

Thanks for this. I will skip looking into the scope probes I think. I have lots of Fluke probes for DMMs which are good enough. The siglent scope ones look like the Rigol ones which are horrible.

It’s going to cost £200 for 3 probes including shipping and tax from US which I’m not going to bother with. I will grab a testec one here and see if that’s any good. ~£26 for a 10x probe. Don’t want switchable ones!

Lol I walk more miles than I drive every year. Also go shopping on foot and drag 20kg of stuff back easy.

Was an easy way to lose 38kg of weight  :o

BTW....did you run into any hassles exchanging the USD I sent you seeing as you folks in the UK hate Yankee greenbacks?  :P :-DD

Edit....I'll bet you took a hosing on the exchange rate.  :palm:

Zero hassle at all. Just paid them into bank account. Zero commission on forex at HSBC (the money launderers favourite bank!). Extra paid for breakfast thanks  ;D

Let’s not talk about exchange rates as it’ll move onto brexit pretty quick  >:(

The average UKer tends to be afraid of foreign stuff. It’s sad really. Our nation needs to get out more. And not to resorts where they sell chips.

Living in your neck of the woods, I'd expect that the walking was also far quicker then driving as well and good job on the 38kg of lost weight, I could really do with that myself but that would mean walking far more then 4 miles to cover all the shops that I have to go to in order to do the family shopping. I would also need some sort of motorised buggy like the postman use to carry home all of the shopping and to keep it dry even.   |O

It can be. Not usually terrible unless you need to get across the city. You learn ways around the usual trouble (usually using brain and avoid where the satnav sends everyone).

Losing weight is a bastard. Easier to not put it on! You basically have to breath out 84% of it as CO2 which puts it into perspective. Walking up hills is good. Hurts like hell for the first year.

Anyway debugging time. My 6286A’s metering circuit goes crazy when you switch metering range so need to work out why.

Lovely as it is, I don't have to worry about too much about rabbit holes, just do not have the physical space for such large pieces of TEA deliciousness  >:D

Mmmmm... Lookit all those yummy carbble-hydrapes... *snif*

I burned up all mine on a double-meat Italian BMT from Subway yesterday. If I'm VERY careful today, that short guerilla attack on my ketosis should go unpunished.  :phew:

Haha, thankfully I only have that sort of breakfast if I'm aware in a hotel for a business meeting, or I should say was, because I'm retired now. My normal daily breakfast would be a bowlful, or in reality a pint jug, full of grapes for the first 3rd of the jug, topped up with dried fruit and fibre cereal from Lidl's which is unsweetened and then cold milk poured on top and stirred, a great source of fresh fruit, calcium and fibre and that often sees me right through to the evening meal. Christ now how big I'd be if I had a full English fry up everyday but I know plenty of people who would not consider nothing else as right, and they all go on to eat another cooked Lunch and then go home to eat a cooked Dinner with their SWMBO and family  :phew: I have no idea just how they can do that day in day out.
