So this weekend I started thinking about repairing the Keithley 610CR (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/test-equipment-anonymous-(tea)-group-therapy-thread/msg2257572/#msg2257572) and I was wondering if I would have to change the crude line filter.I decided to do a little benchmark of different EMI line filters I have laying around, just to compare. The setup was pretty simple, analysing differential mode (line to line), sweeping from 1Khz to 1Mhz. The idea was to observe the effectiveness of the low pass filter.1- Canny Well CW1D-10A (cheap emi filter from china) 2- Delta 06GEEG3E 3- Schaffner FN372-2-31 4- Keithley 610CR line filter I was surprised. Was expecting to change the Keithley filter but it seem to be working pretty well. I guess they knew what they were doing back then. I'm probably not going to touch it, will just make things worst
I keep seeing something else but then maybe my mind just a little more warped than others Handle Mark II added circuit board slots for a 20x80x1.6 PCB for alternate versions.THREAD CREATED https://www.eevblog.com/forum/projects/open-hv-probe/msg2357637/#msg2357637
You know you need to have one now.https://youtu.be/ly6b49ZyaRg
hey, i have an idea! wanna trade one of yours for an oscilloscope? i have a lot of oscilloscopes right now.

am curious about what you used to make those phase/gain plots. have an aim 4170 but it is only a one port unit good for S11 (and it maybe it is recommended only for use above 100Khz?)have been thinking about picking up a digilent analog discovery for S21 but have never had one in hand to see how it performs.your sweeps look great!

I just have my "parental filter" still engaged due to recent "Easter Get-together" time with the GPs and GGPs. Have no fear; I'm still as pervy as ever. Thread noted, perused and inappropriate comments made. Cheers, and Happy Spring Equinox!!!mnem
Well... not exactly never... I MIGHT add a modern filter in line with that; since it has no common-mode rejection I'd at least want a common-mode choke and something to tank out the higher uwave frequencies that 6dB filter would let pass.
Just when you thought you'd got rid of me ... well, I'm still alive and still acquiring TE every now and then - but it gets harder each day finding something on the bay, at least at a decent price.Since there's no known upper limit to the number of counters that one can have, I decided to get me another :With HP and Nixies, you can't go wrong, can you?
In other Nixie news, I picked up a Keithley 160 today. Here it is (middle instrument) measuring 10V out from an HP 6114A precision power supply. My Keysight U1282A reports the output as 10.009V. Nothing's been warmed up in advance. I just turned it on to see it all run, but it hasn't changed since it was cold about 20 minutes ago. Good stuff. Just needs a little adjustment.
