Ditto. A little too far for a road trip.  :--

It said in the add they will post it >:D

The ad header says local pick up only then in detail they will calculate shipping costs. They should make up their mind.  :-//

Between that sort of thing or only ships to the lower 48 states or .... some ebay sellers need a :horse:

There is an ex Aussie Army sig gen box of a similar spec (much more rustic) 10km from me I have resisted buying for six months now but I still give it a look when I am looking at the other junk in the secondhand dealers and so far I have avoided adding to the 'stuff' as my shack is bulging at the seams now.

Is this "washing machine" of the metal variety or is it of the soft warm and squishy type?  :-DD

My new smart tweezers have arrived, post some pics later when the battery is charged and some tests done with it

Well that beats my haul of similar Agilent probes a few months back, how good a deal did you get?

Reminds me, I was going to turn the 1168 & 1169 into adapters, should get around to that.

Giving up on talking to dickheads yes. They are pretty much confined to SSB and FM modes on 40/80/2m though. Plenty of other places. CW, digital modes, WSPR, beacons, EME, interfering with satellites etc.

Haha, why does that part of your statement remind me of Pinky and the Brain?
Just done a quick and dirty test of the Iso-Tech LCR 1705 tweezers and first impressions are that it is pretty much in agreement with my XLW01 digital bridge.
I tested a new 25v 10uF Tant on them both and here are the results.

                  100Hz         1KHz
XJW01        10.138uF      9.986uF
LCR 1705    10.172uF      10.015uF

The JXW01 also has a 7.8KHz test freq and LCR 1705 has a 10KHz but as the 1705 is incapable of reading beyond 2000nF at 10KHz while the XJW01 is, there was no point in recording the result.

I also tested the tant on the Brymen BM867 and it gave 10.44uF, I have 2 chinese budget LCR testers and they recorded 11.38uF and 9.953uF respectively but as none of these state the test freq they are only useful for a quick guide only as to if the capacitor is within 10% of rated value.

I'm hoping that the 1705 will be a useful tool on SMD stuff where the others fall by the wayside, I will do some more testing later

I feel more TEA coming...wanting to get an HP 8568B to complement my 8569B microwave SA...  :-DD

So I was looking at one example on fleabay that looked pretty nice in pictures, so I messaged the seller to ask for some details. Including what options it has equipped because they said nothing about that. Cue the seller being defensive and giving me the model numbers. I prodded one more time and got the reply, "it's sold".  :-DD

Looking at those scopes, they seem to be incomplete in lots of cases, may only be any good for spares, the generators similar.

I think its more than likely that these have come from a factory that has moved from one end of Harlow to a new purpose built facility at the opposite end of Harlow away from prying eyes behind large embankments. The factory in question is called Raytheon UK, which is heavily involved in the manufacture of defence and national security systems.

Clunky gear for a company like that to have in storage.

You ever have a morning where you woke up next to someone far uglier and with more body hair than yourself? Forced repatriation to the far end of the Garden for the medium sized Huntsman.

They used make radar equipment and guided missiles, not sure if they still do.

Nope, my SWMBO is far prettier than that  :-DD and if I was to try a forced repatriation to the garden, I think I'd be lying in a pool blood on the floor  :scared:

This being the heaviest and most expensive thing i've yet bought i've prepared a special cup of tea for you all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtCJUUnStdU&feature=youtu.be Ignore the commentary about accuracy, once heated up its dead on to both of them.

Getting this into the server rack was a bitch, had to move the surge protector and rewire all of it besides just moving it all out of the way to shoehorn this MONSTER in. Took my 5340A straight to 2.6 GHz and all seems to be accurate, no practical use for the thing yet... i literally bought it just so i could say i go into the GHz range.

My parcel deliveries by Australia Post typically arrive between 7:30am and 8:30am - and so it was today.

Sadly, there was no Agilent in sight, but the rest of the package had lots of bits and pieces - all in excellent condition.

I will have to double check my USB ports, but worst case I will have to sort a powered hub.

This should be good for most of the common measurements I do and has the advantage of being able to slip into my existing equipment stack - which means I will be able hide it in plain sight!!

Sadly, I don't think I'll get a chance to set it up today   :(  but my thanks to beanflying for the opportunity.

No worries  :) , use the 'high grade' custom brackets to screw it under the desk for stealth mode or I had it screwed under a shelf. It will run on one port depending on the source but I had a powered hub next to it so ran it on two when it was in the shack.

This being the heaviest and most expensive thing i've yet bought i've prepared a special cup of tea for you all.

Hope you were wearing your back brace  :o
