To note you can turn auto hold on but you need the manual and the setup menu. This is a poke at the useless defaults.
Edit: to note when you do turn it on it doesn’t bloody work properly either.
LOL! I missed this video earlier. Yeah, I don't know why Trigger Hold is the default, instead of Auto Hold. Even worse, in the U1282A manual it's almost impossible to understand how to turn on Auto Hold. Bits of it are explained in two different locations, neither of which will result in enabling the feature. I don't know if the U1242B manual is better.
For example, the default setting for
AHoLd is
50.d, which doesn't mean 50 digits. That cryptic value actually contains two settings: "50 counts" variation
and Auto Hold is "disabled."
Change it to
50.E by altering the right-most character from
d to
E. Then, Auto Hold is enabled with 50 digits of variation as the threshold.
Once you figure out how to turn it on, though, it does hold consecutive values as expected.
